Gurukulam (Place where students stay with the Teacher for education) was functioning in the Murugan Temple until the 1950s. Kavadi festival is celebrated every year by bringing the Holy water to Palani Temple from Kodumudi. Annadanam is also given during the Kavadi Festival. Aruvankattuvalasu is a Hamlet in the Dindigul district of the Indian state Tamil Nadu.

It is situated on the banks of Nallathangal Odai (a very small river), 18 km northeast of the Temple Town Palani and 18 km northwest of Oddanchatram, which has the largest vegetable market in Tamil Nadu. It is a subvillage of Kothayam Panchayat, Oddanchatram Taluk.
