Alexandre Bilodeau (born September 8, 1987) is a Canadian freestyle skier from Montreal, Quebec. Bilodeau currently resides in Rosemere, Quebec.

Personal Life

Alexandre has an older brother, Frederic whom he calls his hero. Frederic was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a young age and told that he would be unable to walk by the time he was 12. Frederic is currently age 28 and still has the ability to walk, and ski. Alexandre uses his brother's fighting spirit as inspiration in everything he does, competes, and how he skis.

Career

In 2006, he finished 11th at the Olympics and later in the world cup season became the youngest athlete in history to win a World Cup moguls event. He achieved this victory on home Canadian soil on the slopes of Mont Gabriel. In the 2005-06 overall World Cup standings he managed to finish second and won the FIS rookie of the year title. The following year he finished third and in 2008 he only managed a fourth place standing overall in Moguls, continuing the slight decline in positions.

But following that in February 2009, he won four straight World Cup events and was part of two historic Canadian sweeps of the men's podium in moguls. He achieved this together with Vincent Marquis and Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau. Following these victories Bilodeau clinched the 2009 overall moguls title on February 20.

At the 2009 Freestyle World Championships he finished eighth in the moguls event and followed that by winning gold in the dual moguls..

Alexandre's career highlights include becoming the first freestyle skier to perform the double twisting flip in competition. Alexandre Bilodeau is the number one ranked moguls skier in the world going into the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. With this ranking he becomes a gold medal favourite at those games.
