Namaste, Mathsci. This article was deleted following the recent AfD, but was restored for userficiation, then altered and moved back into the mainspace. I was about to delete it under WP:G4 as not overcoming the objections raised in the AfD, but it seems from the article talkpage that other administrators disagree. If you're keen on pursuing this, you might want to discuss the matter with the admins in question, or stick it up for a deletion review or second AfD. Race and intelligence
In the past you have expressed a very level-headed approach to this article. There has been a lenghty discussion 9argument) just in the past few days, leading to page protection. I have participated in this discussion but not much, in the past few days, so I don't know what specifically led to the protection. Unimportant. What is important in my mind is the potential for you to review the last few day's talk and identify key issues in content or content politics that you either can clarify, or where you may ask a question that might help antagonistic parties clarify the issue and move towards some way of collaborating smoothly. In any event I think your assessment at this juncture would be constructive. Slrubenstein | Talk 23:59, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Hollywood again
I am confused about the current status of Controversies related to prevalence of Jews in leadership roles in Hollywood - is it still deleted, but the deletion still under review? Or is it still deleted, and the review is over (as most people endorsed the delteion)? Ot has it been un-deleted, and merged with Anti-semitic canard? I consider the third possiblity plausible, although I personally have several caveats about a merger. More importantly, I did not see a consensus for a merger. Even more importantly I do not see any declaration that the review process is over, but maybe I missed something. Can you enlighten me? Slrubenstein | Talk 11:11, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Re: my comment about straw man arguments, I think I should have said "red herring" rather than "straw man". I wasn't trying to disparage the case of the academic you raised or to suggest it was a fictional example - indeed, I know people who were taught by her - I just didn't see the relevance of her situation to the AfD. Fences&Windows 23:44, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- The relevance is that in real life there are certain limits, even taboos, and that applies equally well on wikipedia. I think you have expended too much effort arguing about this case. Please don't post messages like this on my talk page again. Mathsci (talk) 05:10, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't intend to cause you offense, my apologies that I seem to have done so. Fences&Windows 03:07, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Thank you
Thank you very much for the article you provided from a medical journal. It was extremely helpful for my recent work on the article. Zara1709 (talk) 16:42, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Topic ban
Mathsci, if you think you have a case which can earn me a topic ban for "disruptive" activity, then I strongly urge you to file a report. I think it's high time this matter be settled, as I'm tiring of this underhanded ad hominen treatment from you and Slrubenstein. I feel confident that any objective observer reviewing the discussion at Talk:Race and intelligence would find that I have not been "disruptive" at all, and that you have consistently assumed bad faith on my part and continue to misrepresent my comments. If this is not the case, and you actually manage to get a neutral editor banned on the grounds that s/he is not willing to help you push your preferred point of view, then I will gladly wash my hands of Misplaced Pages altogether. --Aryaman (talk) 16:05, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Xavexgoem and Wordsmith, one of them a coordinator of the MEDCAB,will be co-mediating. Can I talk you into rejoining the mediation?--Ramdrake (talk) 00:52, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Bonjour. I have already replied on MEDCAB and, after a good night's sleep when the new mediators have been added to the page, will reinstate myself on the mediation page. Bonne nuit. Mathsci (talk) 00:56, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

A quiet word
Could you please tell me what exactly will satisfy you in this case? A community ban? An apology to_______?( insert name, page group, community). Please just say what you want to happen. You have spent a onsiderable amount of time at ANI this morning. You must have an idea what would make you not how you feel right now. If I can give it to you in ggod conscience, I will.--Die4Dixie (talk) 11:25, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hello. I'm only one user who's looked at your diffs and tried to unravel what's going on. My advice to you at this stage is not to add any more remarks about "nice Jewish boys", "bagels", statements caricaturing Jews , because this is counterproductive. Please don't try to pin down users by your presumptions on their background. What I have enjoyed least in all this was the process of looking through harrowing photographs on the Yad Vashem site to locate the actual image. Of course, that has nothing to do with you. Perhaps if you took a look at that site yourself it might provide you with some new perspectives in understanding what you might have been writing that has caused offense. Cheers, Mathsci (talk) 12:32, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- I am sorry, truly, for your unpleasant evening. I will take a little look, and I do regret that I was insensative, and I can see that those pictures, while still having an effect on me, cannot effect me as they have you. I worked with bodies, of course none like those. Seeing the visceral reaction to my lack of sensativity, as well as some really unfortunate remarks directed at me, I should have left comedy out of it. I´ll go look at the pictures, which i assure you will not give me any pleasure, that you can choose to believe or not. For what it is worth, with no disparaging intent שָׁלוֹם.--Die4Dixie (talk) 13:08, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- It was morning here in France. I note that you have been community banned. As you sow, so shall you reap (Galatians 6:7). Mathsci (talk) 20:30, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Catalog of articles in probability theory
This is a rather unusual article that I'd like to get your expert opinion on. Disclaimer: I've sent it to AfD after a contested prod, but I'm willing to be convinced it could be fixed in some way. Verbal chat 11:24, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Nuclearity
Since you are something of an expert on C* algebras, your input at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Nuclearity would be very helpful. Thanks, Sławomir Biały (talk) 14:29, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

- No, not at all. My own knowledge of C*-algebras is limited to pretty much the very basics. It is certainly news to me (indeed it is surprising) that there is no relationship between the notion of nuclearity for C* algebras and that of other spaces. Could you look over Connes embedding problem, and noncommutative polynomial? The latter is in the clutches of AfD, suffering as it does from a duff title. Charles Matthews (talk) 17:54, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

As far as I can tell there is no discipline in the South Bay (or California more generally). It's becoming more and more like Amsterdam and Europe here, but with churros and BBQ instead of croissant and foie gras. :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:45, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
