Powers appeared various television and films roles including 21 Jump Street and Dead Poets Society. She also had a recurring role on the NBC legal drama L.A. Law. She is an active member of the Church of Scientology. She is married to fellow Sea Org member Gavin Potter (a Canadian citizen) and both work at the Freewinds (FSSO) liaison office in Los Angeles.
