Italic textDoes it seem strange to anyone else that Lucy Webb Hayes and Julia Ward Howe would have been 40 and 50, respectively, when the fraternity was founded?

A: Lucy Webb Hayes and Julia Ward Howe accepted honourary memberships. Notable Kappas

Deletions (and Additions)

It's unfortunate that positive and truthful additions to the Kappa Kappa Gamma page have been deleted. Plato would not be pleased.

In a few days I hope to add some more information to this site, including the KKG "Call" and what it means. I'm not going to insert something like like the KKG password (A*****i), since that adds nothing educational to the site. What I wish to add will be truthful and confirmable. The material added will meet the "Fair Use" provisions of U.S. Copyright Law in that 1) the information is for non-profit educational purposes; 2) the information presented has strong historical value; 3) the amount of material presented from sources such as "History of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity 1870-1930" will consist of only a very small part of the material as a whole; and 4) there will be no deleterious monetary effect upon any individual or group by including the information in Misplaced Pages. If there are any comments ahead of time, please let me know on this page or at jimmyflathead@yahoo.com.

Would like to make addition

I would like to add the following information to the Kappa Kappa Gamma site: The Kappa call is Hai Korai Athenes!(Maidens of Athena!) This information comes from "History of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity 1870-1930." I plan to add the information during the first week of January.

Removal of information - Angela Atwood/Angela DeAngelis

"VSSP" is listed as an archivist at KKG, and she has removed the information about Angela Atwood/Angela De Angelis being a member of KKG. As a matter of fact, Ms. DeAngelis WAS not only a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, she was Jane Pauley's sorority sister at Indiana University (Delta Chapter), and a member of the "Kappa Pickers." She was also the sorority sister of Ophelia Georgiev (Roop). (See the following site: http://www.sbpl.org/nov_23_03.html.) I am re-entering the information within a few days. If it is removed a second time, then I will lodge a formal complaint of vandalism. - jf
