	I prefer to address questions and issues relating to Bigfoot, Nessie, Crop Circles, UFOs,etc,
	from visitors from inside and from outside Misplaced Pages.

	IMHO, Misplaced Pages is a chaos of continual edits by unqualified strangers,a whirling soup of
	not-always-desireable change. I feel it ought to be more cutting edge with newer research,
	which is not usually found in "mainstream" journals, since such journals tend to be against
	any radical new research, protecting their back and their more "respectable" authors. A way needs to be found to get Jimbo to see this and to make a means for allowing such research to be
	noted. Jimbo, after all, IS Wickipedia, no matter how elevated and exhalted some of the high
	honchos think they are. In general, Wicki does better on some topics like Britannica, so all is not wasted. For younger people and people who want new info and updates NOW, not in five years,
	more attention needs to be paid to web info sources, because, frankly, kids do not READ
	books, let alone journals, and have no clue what a "library" is. They do read the web.
	There also needs to be some changes in thbe idea that "verifying" that someone said something,
	no matter how incorrect it was, just because it was in a book, journal or magazine, means anything. (What is this - Wiki:verify ?) More attention needs to be paid to whether the source is
	true and correct. Also, the idea of scientific "consensus" needs a relook. In 1603, the consensus
	was that the Sun went around the Earth. Also, "consensus" among people who edit Wiki, who have no names, no expertise we know of, no resume', no CV. A consensus of madmen in the asylum has no meaning. Wiki needs to be rethought, and restructuered. It is an idea that has gone out of control, with most of the energy going into thought police acting without due process and
	on the slightest whim, to police the lower non-admin masses. Saddam would be pleased.

I saw the report as I am a former employee of ther National Park Service and was stationed in Grand Teton at the time. It might be worth your while to seek this report out.

I know that mountain lions exist in large part due to sightings which are about 50 times more frequent than Bigfoot sightings. But few people ever see a mountain lion because they are predominantly nocturnal and they have tremendous vision, hearing and can smell people long before they get near. I have seen 3 mountain lions in my lifetime of working for the NPS and growing up in Montana. Reports by the NPS estimates at least 300 mountain lions in the Yellowstone ecosystem...a region of almost 20 million acres. The NPS maintains that if the population were to drop below 70, it would have limited chances of maintaining themselves due to possible inbreeding, and related issues...just finding a mate would be difficult at times. As with most higher mammals, the mountain lion does not produce a signicant number of offspring. Most primates (of which Bigfoot is supposedly one) produce few offspring and do not reproduce every year. 	16,000 calories a day and this cannot be obtained from the habitat, and they would leave

	How is it done? In text of change? In the notes block? Is this read BEFORE someone hits revert?

	Listing a reference can be done several ways. On the Bigfoot article, there are Footnotes, References, and External links, so that's a good example of all three. Footnotes are the biggest pain, and frankly, they aren't done correctly on Bigfoot. If you don't mind, we'll skip that right now because its a complicated process. Sources are usually, as they are on Bigfoot, "paper" sources - Books with an ISBN. And External links are, of course, external links to other sites. There are some rules about what is considered a good source. Blogs are not sources. Major news sites are. Very good is a published reference online, as you would find at PubMed, for instance.

	The simplest way to add a ref is in the text, and its also considered a little sloppy, but here it is: You write your text, then add a link inside two brackets at the end <nowiki>.</nowiki> That makes the link look like this

	It's not that ''I'' promote CC, but I know of many instances where the "intense UFO activity and CC" of Tweed Valley during that period is used to promote and support CC theories. I have no view either way as to whether some CC are real (there does seem to be some that have no 'standard explanation'). But I think it's rather sad if CC that are hoaxes are being used as 'evidence', as this tends to mislead researchers, and probably sends them down the garden path.

	These CC were made using a roller Steve and I made. Some were also "highlighted" using a flame thrower (usually used for weed control) using methylated spirits instead of diesel fuel. In two cases we used shovels to remove lumps that would otherwise have ruined the effect.

	It has to be noted that these circles were not in crops per se, they were in relic scrub. Most were on the northern side of Wommin Bay road, east of Phillip Street, where the Cudgen Football Club is now. A few others where directly across Wommin Bay Road from there.

	The UFO ''sightings'' associated with the CC at that time were made using aluminium shavings in Caustic soda to generate hydrogen that was used to inflate ballons, which had small amounts of powdered aluminium (obtained from Wormald's Foundry on Currumbin Creek Road)in them. A long wick was attached, lit and the ballons were released. As a result a small dancing light was seen about 20 feet above the ground, which then dissappeared in a brilliant flash of white light.

	I prefer to address questions and issues relating to Bigfoot, Nessie, Crop Circles, UFOs,etc,
	from visitors from inside and from outside Misplaced Pages.

	IMHO, Misplaced Pages is a chaos of continual edits by unqualified strangers,a whirling soup of
	not-always-desireable change. I feel it ought to be more cutting edge with newer research,
	which is not usually found in "mainstream" journals, since such journals tend to be against
	any radical new research, protecting their back and their more "respectable" authors. A way needs to be found to get Jimbo to see this and to make a means for allowing such research to be
	noted. Jimbo, after all, IS Wickipedia, no matter how elevated and exhalted some of the high
	honchos think they are. In general, Wicki does better on some topics like Britannica, so all is not wasted. For younger people and people who want new info and updates NOW, not in five years,
	more attention needs to be paid to web info sources, because, frankly, kids do not READ
	books, let alone journals, and have no clue what a "library" is. They do read the web.
	There also needs to be some changes in thbe idea that "verifying" that someone said something,
	no matter how incorrect it was, just because it was in a book, journal or magazine, means anything. (What is this - Wiki:verify ?) More attention needs to be paid to whether the source is
	true and correct. Also, the idea of scientific "consensus" needs a relook. In 1603, the consensus
	was that the Sun went around the Earth. Also, "consensus" among people who edit Wiki, who have no names, no expertise we know of, no resume', no CV. A consensus of madmen in the asylum has no meaning. Wiki needs to be rethought, and restructuered. It is an idea that has gone out of control, with most of the energy going into thought police acting without due process and
	on the slightest whim, to police the lower non-admin masses. Saddam would be pleased.
