Peter Hernandez, better known by his stage name Bruno Mars is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Waikiki, Hawaii. He is well known for lending his vocals and co-writing the hooks for the tracks "Nothin' On You" by B.o.B, and "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy. He also co-wrote the international hit Right Round by Flo-Rida.
Early life
Bruno Mars was born and raised in Hawaii by parents Pete and Bernadette “Bernie” Hernandez . Hernandez was one of seven children, and came from a musical family giving him a diverse mix of Reggae, Rock, Hip Hop, and R&B. From a young age, he was impersonating and performing songs by influential artists such as Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. In 1990, at the tender age of 4, Hernandez was featured in MidWeek magazine as "Little Elvis". He attended President Theodore Roosevelt High School, graduating in 2002 at age 17, and shortly after moved to L.A. to pursuit a musical career. Before becoming a successful solo artists, he was an acknowledged music producer penning songs for the likes of Flo Rida, Maroon 5, and Brandy.
He is of Filipino and Puerto Rican descent.
Career
It was soon announced after the success of "Nothin' On You" that Hernandez would be releasing his debut EP, titled It’s Better If You Don’t Understand on May 11
