I tend to plunge into projects like this Misplaced Pages deal headfirst, learning-by-doing, which is really the only Way. So I sometimes accidentally edit articles owned by other people. But I'm a quick study. Before long I see how things are done and I'm chugging right along with everyone else. Sometimes I express my exasperation with a big scoop of dripping sarcasm. If there's a tussle I usually clam up and shut down hard. The chances of working things out with me in with a dialogue are bleak. Misplaced Pages is a very interesting hobby but I have a real life too, so I do not make this a substitute for a social life.

I live in the Puget Sound region of Washington, which has the most varied terrain and weather of any state in the USA. The Wet side of the mountains has rain forests as dense as anything in the tropics, yet you can drive 90 miles east of Seattle and see all the trees peter out just like turning off a light. There are hot deserts with classic dunes here, and a large area of exposed bedrock (the "scablands") where an ice age flood of Biblical proportions carried off all the topsoil. There's an erupting volcano, the proverbial fruited plains, a river second in volume only to the Big Muddy, wild ocean beaches, an archipelago of islands accessed by ferries and a sea of rolling hills covered with wheat.
