Luke Ayling (born 25 August 1991) is an English footballer who plays for Arsenal as a central defender, right back or defensive mildfielder.

Career

Having joined Arsenal at the age of 10, Ayling was an integral part of Arsenal youth team's double-winning side of the 2008–09 season and signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in July 2009.

Luke was loaned out out to Yeovil Town in March 2010 and made his debut against Southend United on 2 April 2010. His loan was extended till the end of the season, Luke played 4 games including his first league start in the final game of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion, on 08 May 2010.

Former Guardian sports writer Steve Claridge lauded the Ayling for his "reading of the game, communications skills, organisation skills, aerial prowess, two footedness and use of the ball" in his scouting reports column.
