My wikistalkers
I have a sneaking suspicion that they are either the same person or working together. Most of their contributions appear to be nominating articles that I start.
- User:Torkmann
- Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Richard H. Sylvester
- Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/W. L. Shurtleff
- Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Hiram Boardman Conibear
- Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Suffrage Hike. He wrote: "How is this notable or memorable? I say that is it no different than any of the other myriad women's rights caterwauling that's been going on for the last several hundred years. No different than an article on 'Molly's bra burning at the Bush second inauguration party, 2004, Salem, Mass.' Sourcing seems a bit suspect as well. Rubbish."
- User:Drawn Some
- As it turned out the two were the same along with a third. I am sure there are more. All three personas nominated the same article and the accounts were banned from editing.
New articles
- Quentin D. Corley
- Beatrice O'Brien (1882-1976), was the daughter of an Irish baron. She married Guglielmo Marconi and had three children. She later married the Marchese Liborio Marignoli
- Hiram Boardman Conibear (1871-1917)
- Anna Sands
- Cato Sells
- Geoffrey Gordon Whitney
- Robert Edward Lee Mountcastle (1865-1913) of Tennessee of the Republican National Committee

Misdescription of warnings
It's not in your best interest to dismiss a warning as a threat. That was a legitimate block warning, and I will have no hesitation in following through if I deem it appropriate.—Kww(talk) 19:40, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Are you going to indefinite block me for your perception of votestacking, or for me perceiving your message as a threat? I didn't "dismiss a warning as a threat", I labeled it a threat because of the unfriendly and threatening language. It was not a friendly civil notice, the way my message to people to "express their opinion" was a friendly notice. Your tone was and still is threatening where a friendly notice would be more appropriate for any perceived infraction. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 20:28, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- It was an extremely civil notice. A demand to stop a flagrant policy violation shouldn't be accompanied by "please" or "thank you", because there is an unfortunate risk the the receiver may interpret it as a request, or somehow think that compliance might be optional. It's impossible to say "do that again and you will be blocked" without saying "do that again and you will be blocked."—Kww(talk) 20:38, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Re: this, I'm curious what part of my comment you perceive as a "threat." Yilloslime C 22:41, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Iceland-Mexico 2008.png
Thank you for uploading File:Iceland-Mexico 2008.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Misplaced Pages may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Misplaced Pages:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:10, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:RoadForgiveness.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RoadForgiveness.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:40, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Molluscs
the Canadian and British English spelling of molluscs is with a c. you should be aware the whole world does not use American English spelling. LibStar (talk) 14:20, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- You still cut and pasted it directly in the article with the misplaced caps. You used the Canadian spelling because you plagiarized the full sentence, next time use quotes or reword the information. Cheers. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 19:31, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
I have always spelt mollusc with a C and so do many other English speakers. You should realiSe that the whole world does not use American English. I'm assuming good faith here, perhaps you need to enrol in a local community college in basic linguistics to understand that regional variation in English exists. cheers. - you simply miss the point. you can't admit that there are variants of English spelling just like several people point out canvassing which you pretend not to see. should realiSe that the whole world does not use American English. A Barnstar
The Resilient Barnstar | ||
Just wanted to say that although a lot of your stuff gets nominated for deletion, and although I'm often on the side arguing for it to be deleted, that's only a reflection of the stirling quantity of new and expanded articles and images you contribute to Misplaced Pages. Don't think all the absolutely-worth-keeping improvements to the project you make aren't noticed or appreciated just because a few of them fall short of the bar. Warning for personal attacks
Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. for this edit, please be WP:CIVIL. LibStar (talk) 03:55, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- I am cool, and don't take it as a personal attack. It is a number pulled from thin air, or more colloquially, from an anal aperture. It has no corresponding verifiability and is being used to sway an argument. Your confusing calling someone an ass, and saying someone pulled a figure from their ass. They are very different concepts. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 03:58, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- you are skating on thin ice. if you dispute the figure there is no need to use rude language. obviously you are looking for admin attention. LibStar (talk) 04:01, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- Don't make threats. It serves no one. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 04:04, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

I was not making threats. assuming good faith here, perhaps your local community college runs courses in etiquette. It is a potential option you can explore, the money spent will be well worth it. LibStar (talk) 04:09, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Norway DSCN0135.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Norway DSCN0135.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –xeno 14:38, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
