Vanike Tarar is a town in the Hafizabad District of Punjab, Pakistan. It is located at 32°15'0N 73°42'0E with an altitude of 210 metres (692 feet). Vanike Tarar is an ancient town that is believed to pre-date the Mughal era, there are a few historical buildings and ruins in and around the town. During the rule of Sher Shah Suri a road was built to link the town to Alipur Chattha and the cities beyond them. Being the centre of the cultivated lands, the town was famous for its "Mandi" (market) of cash crops. The market was mainly handled by the Hindus and Sikhs but more recently is being run by Muslims following the establishment of Pakistan. The nearby villages are also historically important.
