Ayanami Rei

Rei is a 14 year old socially-withdrawn (introverted) girl. She turns out to be a clone, and is widely theorised to be a clone of Yui Ikari or a hybrid of Yui Ikari and the angel Lilith. Another popular theory is that she is a clone of Yui Ikari, but containing the soul of Lilith. It is also quite possible that she is genetically Lilith in origin, but physically manipulated to look like Yui, since Reis seem to drop out of Lilith's leg stumps.

These theories have been created due to fact that she is seen to have generated an AT field promptly before Kaoru Nagisa was killed. Also because she is seen merging and becoming Lilith in the End of Evangelion movie.
