| That sounds like your browser is caching the preferences page. Try the browser's refresh/reload command when you see the erroneous "not logged in" page. If that works for you, re-write this section to give that as the suggested remedy. | |||

| *Another possibility--a long shot maybe--is that you are entering your password twice in the login page (in both fields, when you're not a new user). I have a problem. I have a user Id (Deb) and a password, and I can login. But when I try to access "Preferences", I am told I am not logged in. Then I log in again, and I get a message telling me I am logged in. Then I try "Preferences" again, and get the same message telling me I am not logged in. My contributions are not recognised. What am I doing wrong, please? Deb (and I have the same problem, too!--firepink)

Sorry for this question but as a newcomer I haven't been able to solve it on my own. How do I link up the article I have contributed to others within Misplaced Pages that might be related? Ansdrew
If you want to create a link in your article to another Misplaced Pages article, you first need to find that article's exact title (with search), and then you put a text like ] in your article to create the link. If you want the text of the link to be different from the title of the linked article, you can use the syntax ]. You can even create links to articles that don't exist yet, hopefully prompting others to fill the gap.
If you want to create links from other Misplaced Pages articles to your new article, you first surf around a bit to find the most appropriate Misplaced Pages articles (searching for your new article's title might be useful), and then edit them, adding a link pointing to your new article with the same syntax as above.
