Tomko was dubbed "The Problem Solver" soon after his debut on RAW, reflecting his gimmick; that of a hired enforcer. Although Tomko occasionally wrestled matches, his primary purpose was to ensure victory for his client, Christian, a goal he usually accomplished by interfering in Christian's matches. His gimmick eventually evolved into that of a straight man to Christian's over the top character with delusions of grandeur, and Tomko could often be seen on camera shaking his head in disbelief at the situations Christian put himself and Tomko in. The duo also occasionally teamed together.
In June 2005, Christian and Tomko allied themselves with Eric Bischoff and his crusade against Extreme Championship Wrestling. They were separated on June 30 when Christian was drafted to SmackDown!.
Tomko began to be pushed as a monster heel wrestling in singles competition notably winning matches by KO after hitting a big boot to the back of the head on many jobbers. During one of these many displays of power on Sunday Night Heat, Rene Dupree showed interest in forming a tag team with Tomko.
On RAW, he would knock out both World Tag Team Champions Rosey, and The Hurricane. After helping #1 WWE title contender Kurt Angle to defeat John Cena, Tomko's winning streak would be stopped after being pinned by John Cena two straight weeks on RAW.
In another attempted storyline Gene Snitsky tried to form a tag team with Tomko in much the same way as Dupree, though at first this did not come to anything. Tomko was placed in a tag team match at Taboo Tuesday along side Rob Conway in a match against Eugene and a WWE Legend of the fans' choosing. On the following Sunday Night Heat Tomko appeared backstage with Snitsky and had apparantly accepted the team request. In their first tag team match together, the pair squashed the tag team of Viscera and Val Venis.
