MagnaGuards are combat droid bodyguards seen in the Star Wars universe.
MagnaGuards serve General Grievous as bodyguards and soldiers. They are trained to match the style of combat of the person or creature they are fighting against. The MagnaGuards were originally programmed with knowledge of a huge variety of lethal combat styles. However, General Grievous had their memories wiped and instead trained them personally. Their main weapon is an electrostaff, but their back also conceals a dual missile launcher. Grievous frequently spars against these fearsome droids for lightsaber training. These elite warriors were not cheap though, in fact they effectively bankrupted the Trade Federation to produce. There are four models of MagnaGuard. General Grievous, under the orders of the mysterious Darth Sidious, used several MagnaGuards in his kipnapping of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine just before the end of The Clone Wars.
