This week's football improvement drive is part of the WikiProject on Football and is a weekly collaboration to improve football (soccer) articles to featured article status. Past collaborations are found on the history page, while removed nominations may be found on the removed nominations page.

Nomination and voting

Articles to be improved can be nominated by registered users in the "nominations" section below, with an explanation of what work is needed. To nominate an article, you can copy the template that you will below. Please do not nominate articles involved in edit wars. Each Sunday, the article with the most support votes is chosen. Opposing votes are not counted, the nomination is an approval voting. In case of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins. Articles need two votes per week to stay on the list. You can vote for as many articles as you like. As with any other vote on Misplaced Pages, sockpuppets are banned.

Renominating

An article that is removed from the nominations list for failing to receive the required number of votes by the stipulated date cannot be renominated till one month after the date it is moved to the removed nominations page.

• Giving reasons as to why an article should become the Football AID may convince others to cast their vote.
• Can the wider football community easily contribute to the article? Or is it something only a small number of people will know about?

• First and foremost I think it needs more pictures. The ones on the Norwegian page are not 100% clear on copyrights... NuclearFunk 17:20, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
• Maybe a bit too many dead article links, allthough i understand that a lot of the names mentioned in the article are quite unimportant people, but some of them (like Tore André Dahlum, Ingvar Stadheim, Arne Larsen Økland, Tor Røste Fossen, F.K. • Huge support base in Bosnia+Herzegovina should also be mentioned when considering European countries. Maybe a sub- article on the significance of ultrAslan as well should be included. And a subsection maybe on the violence between Galatasaray fans and Leeds fans etc- many people see this event as an example of Turkish hooliganism, maybe an objective article providing various perspectives, similar to those on Turkey's accession into the European Union for example? melis3514

Football (soccer)

The root article of all articles in this WikiProject. Needs references, and some of the language could be simplified, as the article should serve as an introduction to those unfamiliar with the sport. Cricket is a good example of how to do this well. A productive AID could see this article ready for peer review.

      • Hello, I am largely responsible for the information on the Laws of the Game. I have tried to make them as succinct as possible by giving an overview of an concept area (e.g. starts and restarts; offside; fouls and misconduct) and then linking to more detailed articles, e.g. the articles on each of the restarts, or the detailed information regarding offside. I am open to ideas as to how to make it more efficient whilst still being 100% accurate, but it may take some serious reworking. Cheers, --Daveb 11:10, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

FC Dynamo Kyiv

Nominated February 3 2006; needs at least 18 votes by April 7 2006

Reason:

The article is very incomplete for a highly publicized and renowned team like Dynamo Kyiv. It is the most dominant team in Ukrainian football as well as in the former Soviet Union. It won many championships and deserves more than just that tiny article.
