"A Christmas Carol" is an upcoming episode of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It is the show's sixth Christmas Special since the revival of Doctor Who in 2005.
The episode will feature Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, who will be making her acting debut along side Harry Potter and The Singing Detective actor Michael Gambon, The Bill 's Micah Balfour and Pooky Quesnel from EastEnders.
A preview of the episode is planned to be shown during the Children in Need annual telethon on 19 November 2010.
Production
Production started on 12 July 2010 and lasted into August 2010.
Story
According to Ben Stephenson, Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning, the episode is a "clever twist on the much loved A Christmas Carol". Steven Moffat, writer for this episode said "It's all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon."
