Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Shortcuts
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Current requests for protection
Skyline 199 (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Indefinite cascading full protection dispute, keeps being deleted. RCSprinter123 (talk) 11:30, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Ibrox disaster (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protection vandalism Page has been a common target for IP vandalism recently, due to the 30th anniversary of it being on last Sunday. The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 09:27, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
TimetoPlayMag.com (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Indefinite create-protection, repeatedly re-created spam article. andy (talk) 09:25, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Pradip Baijal (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full (or Semi) protection. Article has been subject to repeated vandalism by 2 specific users who have been repeatedly deleting negative references made to the said individual (who is currently under investigation for corruption) and replacing them with justifications for his actions. This is clear vandalism. Instead of resolving disputes on the Talk page, the users in question refuse to answer queries raised on the Talk page and instead have been resorting to an "edit war". Request that the page edits be blocked to protect content and neutrality.
AEK Athens F.C. (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Temporary semi-protection, Excessive vandalism by IPs. Dr.K. 03:33, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Ganas (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full protection. Reason: Sudden problematic edits by User:Eroberer after very long consensus building process. I see that edits are still happening. Best would be to protect one of User:ResidentAnthropologist's revisions rather than one of Eroberer's, but any protection is better than none. My understanding is that RA helps out at ANI and is perhaps known to admins. Taisha24 (talk) 01:51, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Current requests for unprotection
ShortcutsBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
ShortcutIdeally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Fulfilled/denied requests
Schapelle Corby (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full (or Semi) protection. Although I haven't been directly involved in the conflict, I have been monitoring the article and there have been some seriously conflicting opinions. One particular user, Kimpatriciabax, has recently made edits that did not represent the article in a neutral fashion. I could go on about the other issues but, it would be easier to view the discussions on the talk page.
In any event, this user has threatened that "a tidal wave of publicity is coming (and your view and/or belief in that fact is of no consequence either way), which will overwhelm anything you're playing around with here," and I believe we not only need to prevent edits such as this but we must also get a handle on that matter before this goes spinning out of control. -- The Writer 2.0 20:17, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Fully protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:35, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Comment Assuming that Kimpatriciabax would be the origin of this "wave of publicity", she can't do any more about it on Misplaced Pages as she was indef-blocked earlier today. —Jeremy 21:37, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- There were a couple IP's who had similar views to Kimpatriciabax but I agree, hopefully the block will calm the storm. -- The Writer 2.0 21:41, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for your interest, however, I think a full block is not constructive. With respect, I think it was a bit reactionary. Yes, there was “drama” but that was largely confined to the talk page. please consider...
- If you look a bit closer, there were only two reverts and as pointed out Kimpatraciabax was behind them and has now be indef’ed.
- There is now a positive discussion on ways to improve the article involving about several editors all with the same general agreement. It would be a shame to lose that momentum - a week is a long time on wikipedia.
- I’m about to link this post at the existing ANI discussion – hope that’s fine.
- Could you please consider semi-ing it so that we can get on with cleaning up the article – reference checks, additional info, etc, etc. Again, it would be a shame to waste that momentum. If edit warring starts again, then we can look at full protection again, but given the recent indef I think we can risk it. kidn regards --Merbabu (talk) 22:27, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- No problem; I was not aware that the problem user had been indef blocked. Reduced to semi. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:40, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Request semi-protection. Persistent refusal of a roving IP in the 76.xx range to engage in discussion regarding the prior talk page consensus on the placement of one of Spielberg's early films. Refuses to use edit summaries, reverts without comment, no attempts to communicate to see if consensus has changed. In short, persistent disruptive edits against consensus.oknazevad (talk) 17:45, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Bambu rolling papers (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Very persistent ad-text and promo-text being posted by a user who uses various aliases and IP addresses. The user is trying desperately to cover up various information that must be somehow contrary to their brand Bambu. They revert/delete/ etc.. until the ad matches their website www.bambu.com. Several of us have worked dilligently to resolve disputes and to reference every fact. However even after user ArnaudMS being warned, temporarily blocked and their other alias 71.164.114.50 (and Lostsociety ) has also blocked they come right back after the block expires and re-post promo text or false text. They've even used personal attacks against us and were warned/banned for that as well. Please full protect the page for 90 days and I would ask that you restore the last version . Nahome (talk) 16:17, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
I am not trying to rever to promo text. And I am not these other users that Nahome is claiming. I simply have organized the page, using mainly the sources Nahome brought onto wikipedia. You can check see, that I used the University Of Barcelona professor Miguel Gutiérrez-Poch ] as well as a prominent rolling paper website which Nahome referenced ] I sugest looking at my last revision to see what I am talking about organiization and so on ] .. There seems to be tension as though I have an agenda, yet if you see user Nahome's talk page, I see an editor asked "her" too as a question for herself about Nahome's intentions. Thank you for your time in advance.--ArnaudMS (talk) 16:27, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
