Host country
According to the new host rotation policy the 2015 was supposed to be hosted in Brazil. However, due to the organization of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics in that country, Brazil has reconsidered this decision.
CONMEBOL’s president Nicolas Leoz had suggested the tournament to be organized in Mexico (despite this country not being a member of CONMEBOL) . Nevertheless, Brazil and Chile have discussed the idea of swapping the realization of the 2015 and 2019 championships .
However, Bolivia’s president Evo Morales has contradicted this arrangement by announcing that his country will stage the 2015 Copa America .
Possible extension
