'''Steve McClaren''' (born in ]) is a former professional footballer. He played for several clubs including ]. He made an initial name in management at ] and then made a great success of an opportunity to become assistant manager under ] at ].

In the summer of 2001 McClaren was offered the position of manager of ] and has been a success in the role, taking them into European football for the first time and overseeing the recruitment of many big-name international footballers to the club.
