"A Thousand Miles" is a pop song written by American singer Vanessa Carlton for her debut album Be Not Nobody (2002). It was co-produced and co-arranged by Carlton and Ron Fair, and was released as the album's first single in 2002 (see 2002 in music) and was one of the most popular songs of the year. The music of the song is supported by a full orchestral arrangement and its lyrics reflect the protagonist who pines for her lover, whom she has separated from.
