Tokugawa Neo-Confucianism refers to the schools of Neo-Confucian philosophy that developed in Japan during the Edo period. The interest in Neo-Confucianism in Japan began with the unsuccessful Japanese invasion of Korea, which brought Neo-Confucian texts into the country.
