Joakim Noah (February 25, 1985 in New York City) is a 6'11" American basketball player of French, Cameroonian, and Swedish descent. He is currently playing for University of Florida in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) of the NCAA. He is the son of Yannick Noah, a former tennis player, and Cecilia Rodhe, Miss Sweden 1978.

He graduated from Lawrenceville, a prep school five miles outside of Princeton. As a senior, he averaged 24.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. His team won the state title.

During his freshman year at Florida (2004-2005), he played sparringly (10.3 minutes per game) and averaged only 3.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest. During his team's two NCAA Tournament games, he played a total of 3 minutes.

He exploded during his sophomore year (2005-2006), leading his team in points (13.9 ppg) and blocks (2.1 bpg), while ranking second in rebounds (6.7 rpg). Almost unknown at the beginning of the season, his draft stock improved constantly and he is considered a potential top 10 pick should he declare for the 2006 NBA Draft. Florida also claimed a victory in the 2006 SEC Tournament.
