Fushigi Yûgi (Japanese for mysterious play) is a Japanese manga (later an anime) created by Yû Watase. In the story two teenage girls (Miaka and Yui) find a book in the restricted section of the National Library, titled "The Book of the Universe of the Four Gods". When they open the book and read the first page they are transported within the story, which is set in a world similar to feudal China.
