Redundant compliments
Was just reading this and discovered you were instrumental in its production. Nice. Kafka Liz (talk) 05:06, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- How's things. Still prefer Drop kick Murphys to Fugazi, beatch?. Your missed here, FWIW. Ceoil (talk) 14:02, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Be specific, pendejo, and I'll perhaps reconsider, though the day that DC wins over Boston is a long day coming. Kafka Liz (talk) 14:10, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Well as a paddy I'll agree re Boston, any potatoes we get from DC tend to be sub prime, at best. Worm and black things, and they are not at all fluffy. Still though, the DKM's is an unusual crack in your otherwise impecabale veener. What happened to you gal, you used to be cool. Ceoil (talk) 14:15, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thought the worm and the black came from you lot, century-and-a-half ago. What happened? Thereby hangs a tale...Kafka Liz (talk) 14:27, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thats a bit obstuse, even for me. What in the hell are you on about, and what in the feck has it got to do with Fugazi. If your just remorseful just back away slowly, homes. Ceoil (talk) 14:35, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Wrote a paper on the famine, ages ago, and your comment brought it to mind, is all. The second bit was about the alleged evaporation of my coolness. Sorry if it confused you, ese. :) Kafka Liz (talk) 14:43, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- No its ok Liz, I misunderstood and suck. If you have an admin sock account I wont blame you for just indeffing me for gross stupidity. Youn can swear in the block log if you want. I dont mind "Blocked: user is an ignorant tool". Ceoil (talk) 14:48, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Swearing in the block log is like smoking in the boys' room. Evil twin is more evil. Kafka Liz (talk) 15:01, 19 November 2011 (UTC)joke. No others on this IP, to my knowledge.
- We just had a presedential campain where one of the candiates, whoes name is "Gay" (no actually) and who feeds off the supposed political capital of his late brother was described as 'the evil of two lessers'. Brilliant phrase. Anyway am I blocked or what, or do I have to shoot my way out of here <bang> <pow>. Ceoil (talk) 15:11, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Ha, like that. Anyway, bros before hos, my friend. I'd never dream of "blocking" you. Kafka Liz (talk) 15:17, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Ah Liz you do realise that what I type is 98% bullshit and 2% paranioa; never thought you would, or could. Was just a flirt.Ceoil (talk) 15:22, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Same here... Just mucking about. And you should probably get Bahnstah for being a wicked flirt ;) Kafka Liz (talk) 15:27, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

- Dont worry, in this case Jimbo's money earned from Gianos' and Mallue#s blood is worth it; they are backless and slieveless muscle tops with my face on the front. My mother has already order 2 to put on her other two sons. Sweet. Ceoil (talk) 15:37, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Three Ceoils? Now that sounds dangerous. Kafka Liz (talk) 15:48, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- I would'nt worry you pretty little head about the other two versions. Meanwhile back on planet earth, any good tunes to share. I was never a big Polly harvey fan after her early eps and first album, but Let England Shake is amazing, very haunting and highly recommended. Its a grower and needs attention and a few listens, but start here. 15:54, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Liked the one you left for me a while back. This is pretty good... like it better than most I've heard from her. I respect her but have had a hard time getting into her music, generally. Kafka Liz (talk) 15:59, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Well what put me off is that the type of people that tend to b into her are usually psueds and big words types. Euf, it is off puting. Ceoil (talk) 16:03, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

- Ok, you got me. :D No good comebacks for either of those. You win. Kafka Liz (talk) 17:13, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Its ok, your free to roam as normal; the men in white coats will be along with my tablets soon enough. Hey, are you just visiting an old haunt or are you interested the place again. As you might suspect it the same as you left it, maybe even a small bit worse, but still rewards if you keep your head down and narrow your focus to article space. It lives here: Template:Timeline of Early Netherlandish painters, maybe ask Vlad b for the change, give him a reason to return perhaps...Modernist (talk) 12:36, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

- And then of course there is this: Template:Timeline of Italian artists to 1800, by - uh you know...I wasn't crazy about that group; - here is something insanely great - and another great one: ...Modernist (talk) 00:11, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

- It was you Modernist that turned me on to Odetta about two years ago. Really really like; great voice and she has a gravitis, a seriousness and a darkness in her voice that just amazing. Speaking of amazing, . Ceoil (talk) 17:44, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- No, - generation gap - can't take that stuff...I gotta go, have a good one, back later...Modernist (talk) 17:49, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- I can understand that; but listen to how funky the guitar is, the range of his voice, and how tightly produced the sound is. Its so tightly produced and so compacted that it seems to have been recorded in a vacume. And then when he hits the low notes, o lord. Take care anyway, man. Bal des Ardents
Thanks for the copyedits and yes a crop would be nice. I prefer the image (File:Fire carles6.jpg) that's not in the lead but it's darker so I didn't use it. In that one the king can clearly be seen under the duchess' skirt and the man in the winevat is shown more clearly. Am still looking for a higher res version; can't remember where I found it. Btw - this doesn't make sense. "Leaded"? Truthkeeper (talk) 14:02, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Pigs they thed to wiggle as they walk.. Lords on the other land leap. Fixed. Ceoil (talk) 14:10, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Not enough coffee - should have realized leaped. Truthkeeper (talk) 14:11, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Paul please don't get into this on my behalf - I wouldn't want to see you blocked. I had some time for wiki this weekend and some articles that I've bought books for that I planned to write. Fighting over templates and citation styles wasn't on the agenda. Enough is enough. Let me go. Oh and hi Liz - sorry to interrupt. Truthkeeper (talk) 18:09, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- A I dont see any reason why I might get blocked. There is a move on you obviously, well not you, but the cogs of a larger campain got entangled in the wheels of editors who have clue. If it was brought wider attention in would be quickly culled, I'm fairly sure, but these people tend to quietly run amock, while their reaction to incumbants is just shocking. The millions of articles cmt made by whatever his name is made my blood run cold and reminded me of the dark 97/98 days of Durova and Kelly Martin and the Giano/George wars against stupidity. "We know better." I just want to let it pass as I'm sure you do, but cant help pointing out the self-serving and misguided stupidity behind the anti logic. If that makes sence. The unfortunate thing is that we are bound by CIV and although you are the only person who cares and tends to the Hemingway articles, you have to waste your time and bending to the energy of tossers. Ceoil (talk) 18:18, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
You might get blocked because somebody seems to be in a blocking mood. For no reason. If I walk, I walk for good. If I stay I go down with you. This is my article that I don't own that I'm being told to fix. It's incivil and the kind of crap that drives content editors away. Truthkeeper (talk) 20:03, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Relax dude; were not early christians, and at the end of the day who cares. Remember the 95% existentialist thing; I've been reading and watching a lot of Christopher Hitchen recently, and while it doesnt tell me anyhing new, its nice to see the thoughts so elegantly put out. Im also reading of pop science and watching Brian Cox and Carl Sagan stuff; which is all part of the same thing. I actually splashed out of a telescope a few weeks ago, and have already spotted the smuge of Andromeda. Exciting, and makes you wonder why we fuck about with tools here. Ceoil (talk) 20:19, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, not relaxed now. I was earlier but the list of cites to be fixed made me not relaxed. Cool about the telescope - that is exciting. And don't say anything about making you wonder about why we're here - who pulled me from the brink. I was ready to walk. To go star gazing. Truthkeeper (talk) 20:23, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Huh huh, huh. He said "tool". Kafka Liz (talk) 20:35, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Actually I said a lot, way way, worse than that, but cant point them out till your older, or are sufficiently represented by a guardian. Its juicy stuff though, might be worth the wait (hint: I alluded to mellons). Ceoil (talk) 20:41, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Was just wondering: if I were to hit save right now, we could see what happens when almost 200 harv refs break. Should I do that? It would be a sea of red. Truthkeeper (talk) 21:41, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

There is a funny line in the (good) first half of full metal jacket about that kind of stuff, but there are ladies present so I can't repeat. Ceoil (talk) 22:05, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Waiting
How many times have you quit Misplaced Pages this year? Just wondering if it's as many times as I've been derailed working on projects here because of off-Wiki work and/or the fairer sex. WesleyDodds (talk) 09:01, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Six or seven times, not counting January-October. I see and hear the off-wiki stuff, remember? (Except for the fairer sex stuff obviously). By the way, did you see this.. That NY 81 gig in the vids is so great, used to have a copy (on video!) but was borrowed and never returned a few years ago. By the way, I'm delighted REM have split. The Thinker by Rodin
- TCO
It is my favorite sculpture. dude is ripped but thinking. 33,000. Start. Wait until you don't think I'm an ass any more.
- I dont think your an ass; I actually think your quite ok, friendly, chatty and funny. I can disagree with somebody and still like them, you know. Re Rodin, I'm not really into ripped dudes, but yes the sculpture is amazing. Ceoil (talk) 23:45, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thats a thinking picture; here is some thinking music . Its all the same thing. Note the geomitry and sheer logic and resolve in the first, and the fluidness and curves in the 2nd. Ceoil (talk) 01:54, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
Don't you know how to embed Youtube videos on forum posts?TCO (talk) 02:19, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- No, but you cant do it here cause of copyright and stuff. Ceoil (talk) 02:21, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- I know. Just poking the bear. Liked the second one's tune and beat and all (not as much the bagpipe screech though). The first one is more pleasant though. Pop Scarlatti. I'm really not very musical or art knowledgeable though.TCO (talk) 02:23, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- But you know and like Rodin. Being knowledgeable and liking are two differnent things. Most like, a sad few know. Ceoil (talk) 02:26, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
I took AP art history in HS. Used to have little squabbles with my teacher all the time. Good natured though. He was artistic and I a gear head. But...got the exposure anyway. Still remember reading Janson and then "darkness at noon" (slide shows after lunch...deadly!) Dr. Ray used to always say that it's wrong for someone uneducated to make judgments on art. "I don't know art, but I know what I like". Ray said that when you learn more, you can appreciate more (like watching football and fathoming more if you've played it). That said, it is probably a pretty reasonable first response in terms of an artwork to just try to experience it and say if you like it.
The Rodin sculpture is incredibly noteworthy, so it is nothing special to be familar with it. I used to give Ray a hard time for Mondrian (Partridge Family bus) and Jackson Pollack and the like (anti modern). He was intrigued that I liked Rodin and tried to convince me that it was modern too. But it seems so representational to me. Plus it is just a killer pose. And even the title helps it, really.TCO (talk) 02:40, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- Dude, I'm very tired and feeling old tonight, and after a rough week at work. This is nice chat and I envy that you had an art history education and would like to continue the discussion in a day or two. One parting cmt; your first post on talk:fac got me on my latest project, on a movement/grouping and not just a pic. I used to do larger pages once upon a time Punk Rock, WB Yeats, Joy Division, and some bios. But my paint articles have been for the most part on fairly big block buster pics eg Las Meninas. Enough self defence and squirming! Sleep, and night. Ceoil (talk)
