I have to return the Durer book to the libray & scanning is really a lot of work tbh. Some notes for you to copy somewhere before clean it. I can always get it back if you come back to that page. Nothing else to say. Actually remembered something else to say: if Bouts is ever promoted, please keep the star or donate it or something. Best. ] (]) 01:27, 3 December 2011 (UTC) |

Infoboxes | |
---|---|
Infoboxes are reductive, evil things in arts related pages, and draw straight lines whereas the reality is richer, more complex, vital and interesting A box promises to contain, and things that can't be neatly contained can't be put in boxes. A box suggests "this is the real deal," and if the real deal could be put in a box, then there would be no need for articles. A box says, "Here is your PowerPoint bullet point list, so you can find all the world reduced to a reductive summary; please do not strive to understand complexity, for that is for suckers." A box says, "Misplaced Pages is just like your primary school text book: full of colors and 'bites' of infotainment." A box says, "I, the box maker, have just pissed all over this article and written a counter-article, and it's short, so read it instead." A box may be found useful by some people, indeed. We call those people "non-readers." (Utgard Loki speaking with his much missed Geogre's voice, at Giano's Talkpage, 16:47, 28 March 2008 (UTC) |

Here's one. Like the footage, though I don't think it entirely works with the tune. Kafka Liz (talk) 11:52, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- With tabbed browsing and limited time necessitating frequent multitasking for about 23.5 hours of the (*^$&^#*(&$ day, I find I am not too fussed with the visual side of youtube clips these days...interesting song that.....Casliber (talk · contribs) 13:17, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- I often don't watch the video at all, and a lot of them are just stills or crappy montages, unless it's live footage. This one happened to catch my eye though. I'm curious as to what it's actually from. As I said, it doesn't really match the song well, but it's interesting. Kafka Liz (talk) 18:32, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Tks, am listening to a lot of GBV's at the moment (indirectly inspired by User:John, and thats one of their best. If you like spiderly guitars and haunted vocals, is similar to, (cough) "The Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory". Vid is not very good though, but thats part of the charm. Ceoil (talk) 21:18, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Nah, I've had quasi-arguments with my friends over this one. They don't think much of it, apparently, but I disagree. Kafka Liz (talk) 23:33, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- I notice you were editing the Satan and Ian Curtis articles last night. Any thing to tell us. The internet worries you know. Ceoil (talk) 23:36, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

- I'll check... organisation can be tougher than simple copy-editing, so I may need to mull on it a bit, Mr 110 page watchers ;) Kafka Liz (talk) 23:53, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Would be appreciated; very weak point of mine. O and thats 107 vengeful trigger happy admins, youself, Cas and TK. Ceoil (talk) 23:55, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

- Dude, don't blow your cover Kafka Liz (talk) 00:26, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- You had you chance and wasted it, Yoman. Dont get bitter though, I'm sure you could orchestrate drama and termination at the lift and wave of a dainty hankicherchif. We've all heard the rumours about how you dealt with JFK when he moved in on your territory. <cough> Well done mr Yomangani, sir. Ceoil (talk) 00:23, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Dainty handkerchief? I only play the effete fop to put the Frenchies off the scent while I spirit the aristos away. Dem! Blown my cover. Yomangani 00:32, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Whatever. English dandy, effete frenchman. At the end of the day, these are just interchangable terms to describe men not from Cork. Choose your poison. Ceoil (talk) 00:43, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

- I might be waving a hankicherchif myself soon enough if the disrespect continues. See , but dont laugh. Ceoil (talk) 00:56, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- In seriousness, at least it's comprehensible. This fellow I knew from Derry... like a whole other language, except technically it wasn't. Kafka Liz (talk) 01:06, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Useless feckers in Derry. Cork and Liverpool accents are very similar, sing songy and very hedged and scartastic. I have a very strong accent, in speach "like" and "fuck" are about every secomd/third word. My parents fault, obviously like. Ceoil (talk) 01:10, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

I believe it; can practically hear it when you write. In a good way. No further comment on the uselessness of Derrymen - that's not for these pages. But personal experience confirms. Kafka Liz (talk) 01:19, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
(ec)Now now, don't leave out Modernist. Seriously, I should be able to sketch out a structure by the weekend. Hopefully sooner, but I can't promise. I need to do some reading, both of sources and of other articles. Not hard, but I'm not in a terribly serious frame of mind this evening. Kafka Liz (talk) 00:02, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not either to be honest. Found a few new sources; but ah can't be bothered adding. You can chat away here if you want. Seen any good film recently? I watched Attack the Block during the week. O its great. A low rent tackly horror version of Kidulthood or PhoneShop. Wkd. Ceoil (talk) 00:12, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Looks to be just up my alley. I usually catch up on TV series - don't really have a TV here (a box, but it doesn't get any reception). I've been watching Being Human of late, which is... ok. Liked Survivors better. Kafka Liz (talk) 00:20, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- shhhh ...Modernist (talk) 00:36, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Wow. It's strange to see him looking so... grandfatherly. And in a baseball cap, to boot, Kafka Liz (talk) 00:53, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- I just started on parks and recs, which I had expect more from, had heard it was as good as community, but not. Its funny, but very self concious and edgy in a deliberate way. Maybe the 2nd season is better. I've given up on always sunny on philadeliphia, though use to love it, its just to random and shark jumpy now. The 4th season of Breaking Bad was 1 Milloin times better than the other 3, and I hate it about myself but I'm watching the Living dead. Its characterisation is just rubbish, esp the women who always seem to be on the rag, but the zombie sceens when they happen are done very well. If you do grow the courage to start with torrents, the BBC Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy series is way better than the film. Its on isohunt and well seeded. Ceoil (talk) 00:38, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Parks & rec is also ok - but I never felt tempted to rent another disc of it (which gives you an idea of how long ago I watched it). Sunny is pretty good, but too many in a row just make you want to kill yourself. Haven't seen the 4th of Breaking Bad - for above-mentioned reasons, shortly to be solved - and I thought at one point sharks had been jumped, but I've revised my opinion on that score. Living Dead... works for me. I like it a lot. Jericho, on the other hand, is pure shit. Just a thought. Kafka Liz (talk) 01:02, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- The living deads characters are so unattractive though, the women moany and gripy, the men think they are idealistic but are in reality just weak. And all are one dimentional, I wouldnt even describe them as types they are so weakly drawn. Shane at least has potential now that hes a bad ass, but the switch from good to bad Shane was so clearly drawn, jeeze where's the shadow. I like the gut with the crossbow who was in the boondock saints, he at least has colour, but he seems to be hooking up with that dreadful woman with grey hair whoes daughter got lost, and she's a real pain. But even with him, its such a linear "bad boy" redeemed story I want to reach for my revolver. Ceoil (talk) 01:18, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think you've watched further than I have - I've only seen Season 1. Which was short. I don't remember disliking anyone particularly, but I don't remember caring much about them either, so you have a point. I did like the story as far as I watched it, though. Kafka Liz (talk) 01:24, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- It would seem I am too invested in the series than is desirable in a man of my vintage. I got passionate there for a moment. My apologies. 01:29, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
