Suggestion to add this project to the supported proejcts list of WikiProject United States
With the inclusion of WikiProject Nebraska into the supported projects list of WikiProject United States and the appearance that this project might have low activity I would like to add this project to the supported projects list as well. Before doing this though I would like to hear from the members of the project to get their comments. --Kumioko (talk) 17:49, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- This discussion has been open for 6 days. Does anyone have any comments about this suggestion? --Kumioko (talk) 16:08, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
- It seems like you're doing this almost standardly across the state and city projects, and there aren't very many users who contribute regularly to this project, so as the project creator I say go for it. • Freechildtalk 16:57, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
- Your right, of course there are quite a few projects that don't want or need to be supported but unfortunately most of the state, city and local projects have little activity these days and I am hoping that we can turn that around by supporting them from a central point so that it takes fewer editors to support the upkeep of the projects and frees up more time to improve articles and collaborate. --Kumioko (talk) 17:08, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
- Since the discussion has been open for about 12 days with only one comment so far from the projects creator saying go for it I am going to add this to the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. I will continue to leave comments here as I progress through the process. --Kumioko (talk) 15:38, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- Kumioko, do you know of an article counter for projects? I'm interested in seeing how many are actually tagged with WikiProject Omaha, because I'm afraid I left a small ton off from before I created the project. • Freechildtalk 18:40, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- There are several ways to find out whats tagged already. The easiest is just to look at Category:WikiProject Omaha articles. It looks like there are currently about 340 tagged. As near as I can figure there are about 970 pieces of content in Misplaced Pages that contain the word Omaha and are not already tagged for the project. Not all are necessarily related to the project though and this includes redirects, categories, templates, files and pages that fall under the Misplaced Pages namespace including deleted article discussions. I haven't scrubbed it yet but I hope this helps. I put the list here in case you wanted to see what I came up with. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm sure there are plenty more besides these but this is a start. --Kumioko (talk) 19:09, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
