Young has appeared in advertising campaigns for Revlon, L'Oreal, Clairol, Maybelline, as well as Victoria’s Secret, and has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. . In 1988, Karawas photographed by Richard Avedon for Revlon’s "Most unforgettable Women" campaign along with two supermodels Christy Turlington and Laurence Treil. That same year, Young had an acting role in Coming to America and later became an entertainment correspondent for Fox News Channel. Young retired from modeling in 2004, and co-founded a New York City hair salon..
