User talk:Jeffpiatt
Hi there. This user is requesting an unblock after about 4 years. You were the original blocking admin. I'm going to raise an ANI to see what people think about unblocking the user as I don't know them quite well enough to rule on my own. Is that okay with you? S.G. ping! 17:32, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks for handling it. I support whatever ANI and you decide. Stephen 23:09, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Request Move / Questions
Hey Stephen:
A few months back I asked if you could unlock an article that you moved to my account. Today I'm here to request if you could move http://en.wikipedia.org/User:Krispin16/VSide back to http://en.wikipedia.org/vSide. I also have 2 questions. One is about web references. Is it preferred to use work=XXXXX in web citations? The other question is about images we added to the article. They were removed because the copyright conflicted with pictures in the user pages. Is there a way to undo that, or do we have to re-upload those again?
Thank you for taking the time to address my question Krispin16 (talk) 20:40, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Request for undeletion
Hello i have been using[REDACTED] for a while but i had just made a user account today, just to do what i am doing now. I noticed that the page "Initial D Car Modifications and Character Relations" had been speed deleted by you in 2007 under the code (csd r1). I researched a bit to understand more about the guidelines of deleting, and i do not quite understand. Why was this page deleted? It had valuable information to all Initial D fans, and contained information that i could not find anywhere else. But there is an alternative to undeleting the page, there is another page regarding Initial D that is titled "List of Initial D characters and teams". This page has a list of the main characters and information about their cars. The only problem is that it is missing some information, that i am sure was in the page "Initial D Car Modifications and Character Relations". So if you could please go over this specific deletion and maybe look into finding more information for the other page, i would be joyed. Thank you for your time. Orphaned non-free image File:SydneyTowerSkywalkLogo.png
Thanks for uploading File:SydneyTowerSkywalkLogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Themeparkgc Talk 07:33, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Deletion
I'm curious why you think an article on a 60 year old canoe manufacturer doesn't indicate notability. Do you think this subject is less notable than someone who plays one game in the NFL or qualifies for an Olympic team? I was also not given an opportunity to dispute the deletion on the article's talk page. This type of deletion makes working on Misplaced Pages rather unpleasant. I hope you will be more helpful and supportive of goof fatih contributions made to Misplaced Pages in the future. I don't see any need to rush to delete the work of others. Finding sources and working up articles takes a lot more effort than pushing buttons and tearing stuff down. I understand that Misplaced Pages is fast losing contributors. This type of approach may explain why. Take care and Happy Holidays. Candleabracadabra (talk) 23:46, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

- That's a surprisingly suitable image, the use of which didn't occur to me as a possibility. Thanks for adding it! (Otherwise, the photograph of Portia Simpson-Miller probably would have returned soon, due to the length of tomorrow's featured article blurb.) —David Levy 23:34, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Request for undeletion
Hello Stephen, I am a long time Misplaced Pages user. I recently noticed that the page "Nimble Storage" has been deleted by you on January 7th under CSD A7. Nimble Storage (www.nimblestorage.com) is the fastest growing storage company in history. Nimble's break-through CASL architecture is redefining the enterprise storage industry. The article is already linked to atleast four other Misplaced Pages pages already. We've had multiple visits to Nimble website from Misplaced Pages in the past after users read the Nimble Storage[REDACTED] page. I can share Google analytics logs if that would be of interest to you. Considering the importance of this article, could you please undelete the wiki page so that users searching for Nimble Storage can get to know about it? Thank you for your help. If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me. —Nimblestorage 2:35, 19 January 2012 (PDT)
- I've restored the page to User:Nimbleneo/Nimble Storage for you to improve. Stephen 02:53, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Nutz (band)
If this is the 70s hard rock band, would it be possible to recreate the article? I'm happy to add sources; four albums on A&M Records is easily enough to pass WP:MUSIC. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 12:57, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- It wasn't long but I've recreated at User:Blackmetalbaz/Nutz (band) for you to expand. --Stephen 22:24, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
MSU Interview
Dear Stephen,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Misplaced Pages administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 07:26, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Perfect Stranger
Umm, OK. I would really like an explanation as to why you deleted Perfect Stranger's ARTIST Page. I am speaking in reference to the Isreal-based progressive psy/tech producer. He is one of the most cutting edge producers in our scene/industry and I find it really defiant that you would go and shed such disrespect by claiming him as an insignificant. Put that page back up man! Seriously. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.94.252.170 (talk) 01:37, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
1Password
Hi Stephen:
I'd like to recreate the article on 1Password. It was previously speedy-deleted as G11 in 2010. However, this software is now notable enough to warrant an article, analogous to other password managers such as LastPass, KeePass etc.
Let me know if I should go ahead with it or not. Thanks. EngineerFromVega 09:31, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
