Hello, Zoupan. I am fairly new to Misplaced Pages and I do not know what to do in a situation like this: a user going by the name of ] is repeatedly vandalizing the page titled ] and the user refuses to go on the talk page and discuss his revisions. The same user has labelled my account as being a sockpuppet account without providing any evidence. If you could please help me resolve the dispute with this user (I even believe that I can report him if he continues vandalizing the page) I would appreciate it very much. Vrana

I forgot to mention to you this (short) text which mentions Vrana:

....Skanderbeg at the time of his rebellion (Skanderbeg had entrusted the defense of Kruje to Uran while it was besieged by Murad II in 1450. Skanderbeg himself chose to fight outside its walls) . As our registers contain a mention of "Urana", and because he is the father of the scribe called Zaganos, we can surmise that he must be fairly old. We know that the Count Uran died in 1458. {{citation}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |month= (help); More than one of |author= and |last= specified (help)--Antidiskriminator (talk) 22:11, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
Trivia. As far as I could understand Vranakonte is mentioned in work of Stefan Zanović: Овога Вранаконта или конта Врану знамо из граЬе о овом добу али нигдде нема поузданидих података о н>еговом or here...--Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:46, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

Dukagjin

Dukagjin is larger than that. See this article . Xrsye (talk) 20:10, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Yes, it sounds reasonable that we have Dukagjin (disambiguation). Created it, thanks. Xrsye (talk) 20:56, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
I really am not a geographer, so my contributions with geography related articles can be limited. I think we ought to move Metohije to Dukagjin plateau which is in English. Is there a source about when the region started to be called Metohije? Xrsye (talk) 21:26, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
There's plenty of confusion around. You must be a Serb and in the history books you have learned the region as Metohija. I swear that I had never heard of that name in school, because we call it Rrafshi i Dukagjinit. So it all depends what "history" you mean, the Serbian, or the Albanian one. We just ought to compare notes and grow the knowledge of the area little by little. Thanks for the link to that clans map btw. I hope we can do here in Misplaced Pages a good job in establishing Balkanic friendship, similarly to what is done by this nice association. Xrsye (talk) 21:50, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Marquis of Tripalda

According Gjon Muzaka, an Albanian nobleman of the Muzaka family, alleged in his Muzaka Chronicle (published in 1510) that the "Marquis of Tripalda" was maternally related to the Muzaka. You can see in this reference Muzaka Chronicle who is writing about the Marquis of Tripalda and the correlation between Vojsava and Marquis of Tripalda. Gjon Muszaka also pretend that the Marquis of Tripalda was related by blood with his family. Irvi Hyka 21:25, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Translation

Here you go. I am quite lost in all these family relationships, so if anything is unclear, please let me know. The text uses some oldish (ca. 1900?) style of German and spelling, but I marked cases where I am not sure about the meaning in brackets. Also I don't know Latin (or is it Italian?), so I left it in there. As usual I am aiming for correct translation of the meaning not for pretty English:

Also Hopf's discoveries/finds don't provide any insight into the ancestry of the famous defender of Kroja. Barletius only says the following about Vranaconte's ancestry: " Vranacontem Epiro oriundum gratum et avorum rueritis et propria virtute" and the despot leaves us in as much in the dark that we are unable to determine whether Maria Zardari was the wife or the daughter in law of the "defenser Crojae". But perhaps the notice that when she was just married , in 1466 she fled to Naples together with Skanderberg's widow, could rather support the assumption of being daughter in law. In addition, the despot only mentions that she married after both lost i loro stati paterni. In lack of certain information in das Reich der Vermuthung verwiesen , already above when talking about Branilo, the father of Constantin Kastriota, governor of Alexander Gioritsch, we raised the question whether the Branai were members of a side branch of the Eiastriets named after this Branilo. Considering on the other hand that the mother of Skanderheg was a born Tripalda and that a descendant of Wrana Conto held the title Marchese di Tripalda, even the following question seems permitted: whether Wrana Conto and Skanderbeg's mother were related by blood. For sure Brana Conto is forefather of the still thriving/prosperous/flourishing dukes of Ferrandino and equally certain is that those descend from Skanderberg maternally, because his granddaughter married Antonio Branai. That they are also paternally Kastriots is only a weak assumption. bamse (talk) 22:19, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Zoupan, thanks for the comment

I do not really know how a task force works. I've just seen that some major universities have opened projects. I just wanted to put all the University of Belgrade stuff in one place, so it becomes transparent. --Comparativist1 (talk) 17:07, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Pirot

Hi, Zhupan! Concerning this edit, please see Talk:Pirot. This particular version is the result of compromise from the talk page. I think we have 2 options - we can start everything again (to present the different viewpoints in historiography at the beginning) or to improve this text with concrete sources. Regards, --AKeckarov (talk) 13:58, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your constructive attitude. The idea for the changing of the sections is very good. I will be away from Internet over the next days, but I will be happy when I return to continue to improve the article along with you. Regards,--AKeckarov (talk) 16:52, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

COA

Here and here you can find discussion about this. But I don't think that there is a chance to reach the consensus about it until the main obstacle is resolved and I don't expect it soon.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 15:23, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Pandurs and references

Hi! Thanks for the contribution to the Pandurs article. There's no need for lengthy quotes from books available via google books - as in case of Jelavich. Furthermore, the Pandurs were most likely composed of Croats and Serbs considering where they were raised as a unit, but Jelavich seems as a particularly poor reference because the same book (actually just two lines down from your quote) specifies that the Pandurs originate specifically from Pakrac and the surrounding area - which is, quite frankly, contradicted by virtually every signle source on the issue ever written. As far as Grenier's "etymology" is concerned - that is not an etymology at all - that's saying what a word means in a particular language. Also, could you please format references properly, using cite book template (or other appropriate templates) and not add "Sources" section without any need for it - the reflist template handles the listing. Regarding the "banderius" - that sounds interesting and I agree that is quite possible, but could you please find a source a bit more serious than Chambers Dictionary. That particular dictionary is fine for scrabble but hardly a reliable source.--Tomobe03 (talk) 16:15, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
As a matter of fact, I copied this to Pandurs talk page, so maybe it would be more convenient to carry this on over there.--Tomobe03 (talk) 16:19, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
