::::Pitchers are ejected on almost a weekly basis for hitting batters? That is certainly not correct. There have only been five such ejections (Quintana, Tim Dillard, Henderson Alvarez, D.J. Carrasco and Jeanmar Gomez) all season. Also, this incident did receive notable media coverage, largely due to the blatant overreaction by broadcaster Hawk Harrelson. ] (]) 21:56, 14 July 2012 (UTC) | ::::Pitchers are ejected on almost a weekly basis for hitting batters? Okay, I think both of you guys need to take a breather and re-read ] and ], because this conversation (and I'm thinking of whether or not we need to reinstate what Carthage jut deleted) has not been the most constructive. – ] (]) 16:25, 16 July 2012 (UTC) |

A fact from José Quintana appeared on Misplaced Pages's Main Page in the Did you know column on 21 May 2012 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

Ejection
I certainly like it better as a sentence than a paragraph, but I'm with Carthage44 (talk · contribs) on this one. Pitchers throw behind batters often enough and get ejected for it. We don't mention every ejection, and should only mention it if it's somehow noteworthy to Quintana's career. How is this noteworthy, outside of that particular game? – Muboshgu (talk) 19:05, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Muboshgu (talk). Pitchers are ejected on almost a weekly basis for throwing at hitters so why is this instance noteworthy? If player pages had a note about every time they were ejected for throwing at a batter, some pages would be crazy long. If a player threw at a batter and ended a players career because of it, then sure that should be noted. Carthage44 (talk) 21:44, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
