Mundart des Ostgebiets is a subdialect of Low Prussian. It belongs to the Low German languages. It was spoken around Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg), Klaipeda (Memel) and Sovyetsk (Tilsit). Chernyakhovsk and Sovyetsk belong to Russia. Many speakers of this subdialect were Lithuanians.
