Indhu Rubasinham is the artistic director of the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn, London. She succeeded Nicolas Kent in 2012.
Rubasingham was born in Sheffield, the child of Sri Lankan immigrants. Her interest in theatre was ignited by a spell of work experience at Nottingham Playhouse as a teenager.
Rubasingham began her tenure at the Tricycle with Red Velvet, a play by Lolita Chakrabarti about the actor Ira Aldridge. The production starred Adrian Lester.
