Personal Information on your Userpage

Hi Mjs1991. My name is Backslash Forwardslash. I am a Misplaced Pages administrator, and I noticed you have recently created a userpage. I don't intend to scare you away or attempt to intimidate you, but I thought you might want to reconsider some of the items on your userpage. You may have not realised that the items on your userpage release personal information about yourself (real name or age etc), which could be used against you in the future. While 99% of all the editors on Misplaced Pages are friendly, welcoming and harmless, there is a chance your personal information could be misused by editors not so 'high-minded'. A handful of editors have even felt real-world implications due to their Misplaced Pages edits and release of personal information.

Protecting your privacy, and remaining anonymous while on the internet — on any site — is a good idea. The internet is a worldwide and largely unregulated medium, and while Misplaced Pages is one of the safer sites, there are definite risks while online. With cyber-bullying and cyberstalking becoming increasingly commonplace, it is important that you take every precaution to remain safe.

I have deleted some revisions of your userpage in respect to your privacy for the time being, just in case you wish to reverse on your decision to have such content on public display. As a result, the information is only available to administrators. You are, of course, welcome to ask myself or another administrator to restore them, but I just wanted to make you aware of the risks involved with releasing personal information on such a public forum. If you wish to have the personal information removed so that even administrators cannot view it, I can request oversight on your behalf. You are also welcome to discuss this with me on my talk page, or privately via e-mail if you have any concerns. Again, I do not want to scare you. Misplaced Pages is a fantastic place with an incredibly supportive community. I'm just trying to ensure you are fully aware of the risks involved in editing, which are very similar to the risks you come across every day online. Hope to hear from you. \ Backslash Forwardslash / {talk} 12:57, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Snakes of Australia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brown snake (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Wrestling sources

Hello Mjs, the sources in question have been established by the Pro Wrestling Wikiproject to be unreliable. See Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Professional_wrestling/Style_guide#Sources... just because you see many article with these sources... doesn't mean that they are automatically reliable. Perhaps these sources such as lordsofpain, as "dirtsheets" frequently provide rumours as "news" which are not factually verifiable, which is why the WikiProject has classified them as unreliable. If you wish for the Wikiproject to reclassify these sources, feel free to take it up at WT:PW Starship.paint (talk) 04:48, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Edit re Archie Roy's death

Hi, the edit of Archie Roy's entry referring to his death came from the BBC local news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-20858029. I will try to re-enter the edit that you changed.

Nick Kyle — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick C Kyle (talkcontribs) 22:41, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm getting a cite reference error on the revised page and I don't have the skill to sort it. Can you assist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick C Kyle (talkcontribs) 22:54, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

I make a factual statement on the Chinese Shinkansen and you remove the comment. You have also removed the "New section" of your talk page with no comment from you.

The re-edit was wrong. BBC article states he died on Thursday which is the 27th http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-20858029. STV article also says the same http://news.stv.tv/scotland/207783-astronomy-professor-and-glasgow-ghostbuster-archie-roy-dies/ . I have re-edited again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spirouet (talkcontribs) 03:15, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
