Biography
Alesha Dixon's career began in 1999 when she met Sabrina Washington as they joined Dance Attic (a popular dance class school in West London), and the both of them became a duo. In 2000, when both Alesha and Sabrina were auditioning they met with Su-Elise Nash, and formed a trio. Soon, they were signed to Telstar Records with the addition of a new member, Zena McNally, and they became the popular garage/r'n'b girls band, Mis-Teeq. However, right after the release of their debut single "Why?", Zena left the band to persue her own solo career that has yet to succeed.
They went on and released their first debut album Lickin' On Both Sides on October 29 2001 featuring several singles such as "All I Want", "One Night Stand", "B With Me" and "Roll On / This Is How We Do It". In 2003, they released their second album Eye Candy including hit single "Scandalous" which went to be their most successful release. Other singles included "Can't Get it Back" and "Style". Following the album, they began touring the US in 2004 and appeared on famous shows such as Jimmy Kimmel, Pepsi Smash and Carson Daly.
In 2005, Mis-Teeq made the decision to separate, each to pursue a solo career. On 18 June 2005, Alesha married fiancé MC Harvey, a former So Solid Crew rapper from London. Last year, Alesha was signed to Polydor Records and has been hard at work on new tracks ("Nasty", "Shadows", "Fired Up", and "Superficial") with many producers, including Richard X and Xenomania.
