The 2013–14 Football League Championship (referred to as the Npower Football League Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the tenth season of the league under its current title, the twenty-first season under its current league division format and will mark the 125th season of the football league. The season will begin on 3 August 2013 and will finish on 3 May 2014 with all matches that day kicking off simultaneously.
Teams
Of the 24 teams which will participate, eighteen of these remain following the 2012–13 Football League Championship. They will be joined by three teams from 2012–13 Football League One, and three teams from the 2012–13 Premier League.
As of 13 April 2013, 8 teams have been guaranteed a place in the 2013-14 season, despite having a chance of promotion to the 2013-14 Premier League, they cannot be relegated to the 2013-14 League One, therefore earning themselves at least a spot in the 2013-14 season of the Championship. They are listed below in alphabetical order.
- Blackpool
- Bolton Wanderers
- Brighton and Hove Albion
- Cardiff City
- Crystal Palace
- Hull City
- Leicester City
