Surbhi Jyoti (born May 29, 1987) is an Indian actress, theatre actor and TV anchor. Surbhi Jyoti is a popular face in Punjabi movies and Punjabi soap operas. She is currently playing the lead role in Zee TV's soap opera Qubool Hai as Zoya Farooqui.

Personal Life

Surbhi Jyoti was born and raised in Jalandhar, Punjab. She is from a Punjabi Brahmin family. She now resides in Mumbai, Maharastra while her parents and younger brother stay in Punjab. Her mother is a homemaker and her father is a business man. Jyoti recieved her early education from Shiv Jyoti Public School, Jalandhar after which she graduated from HMP (Hansraj Morarji Public College). She then recieved her MA degree in English from Apeejay College of Fine Arts. From a young age, she has been an active debater and has won the National Debate Championship three times out of which two times, she spoke on the topic women's empowerment. From the past seven years, Surbhi Jyoti has been performing in theatre. She said that her family has been very supportive of her acting career.

Surbhi Jyoti is a well known actress in Punjab. She has worked in several movies and music videos of Punjab.

She has also worked in the Punjabi serial Kach Diyan Wanga. She starred in popular Punjabi movies such as Munde Patiale De and Raula Pai Gaya.Surbhi Jyoti has been the anchor for many shows as well.

She now essays the role of Zoya Farooqui in Zee TV's Qubool Hai which was a role that helped her gain significant media attention and popularity. On her role as Zoya Farooqui, Jyoti has said that she can relate to her character in real life. To prepare for this role, Jyoti said that she watched Pakistani shows.
