Your candidacyOh, difficult one! I genuinely had not noticed that you were up for consideration. If I had, I would not have voted for you, but I would probably not have opposed you actively either. I have not had much contact with you in the past, and in your favour is the fact that you sought to make up the dispute with me and not to turn it into any kind of ongoing confrontation. However, I did think that your initial approach to me was rather aggressive and that your attempt to get the article restored on technical grounds was a poor use of everyone’s time and showed a lack of judgement. Although I appreciate what you are trying to do with the Korean students, it would have been more profitable if you had just helped them to lick the article into shape rather than making a major issue out of it – in my opinion, this was setting them a bad example, making them think that Misplaced Pages is here purely to help them practise their English. I would not hold the fact that you have previously been blocked against you in the long term – this has happened to many people who have later become valued contributors. However, I think there may be a communication issue and this may be partly cultural in your case. But don’t misunderstand me, I am not opposed to people becoming administrators just because English isn’t their first language.
