Thanks for the image check at Freedom for the Thought That We Hate
Thank you for the image check at Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates/Freedom for the Thought That We Hate/archive1. I've responded there at the FAC page.
I also took the initiative to merge those sections, as you suggested. Perhaps you could have another look to see if that's satisfactory?
Thanks again for your input and helpful suggestion,
— Cirt (talk) 06:16, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Yep, that's good. I don't think I'll have the time for a more in-depth review just yet though (sorry!) — Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:37, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, okay, I see. Well, maybe sometime soon. Thanks for the image review, — Cirt (talk) 10:40, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- And on a related note of a similar freedom of speech topic, Happy World Press Freedom Day!!! :) — Cirt (talk) 10:40, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- You too! We got quite a bit on the main page today — Crisco 1492 (talk) 20:24, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

We've implemented your suggestions, and done several passes of copyediting. Care to have another look and reevaluate your position at Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates/Freedom for the Thought That We Hate/archive1? :) — Cirt (talk) 01:53, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'll see if I have time for a prose check later. I don't support based on image checks alone, although if your question is about images you should note that I crossed out the only issue. — Crisco 1492 (talk)
Oh, yeah, no worries and thanks again for the image check. I'm just getting worried because we've had several helpful contributors (including WP:GOCE itself) do several passes at copyediting, the title of the book itself indicates an interesting issue related to the topic of freedom of speech, and yet so far not much interest from Misplaced Pages users in commenting on this one.
:(
Anyways, thanks very much for all your help so far.
— Cirt (talk) 02:17, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- It's only been up a week, right? For FAC right now that's not surprising. A lot of the hardcore reviewers are busy elsewhere. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:29, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Understood ... but ... gulp ... it's not doing well so far. :( — Cirt (talk) 02:31, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- I think once you've gotten Nikki's comments out of the way there will be more reviews. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:57, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Check it over, you'll see that, so far, I've done my best to respond to all comments at the FAC. Unless you have any other suggestions for additional ways to respond to and address those comments? Do you see my point-by-point responses? Do you think I've adequately and sufficiently addressed points raised at the FAC so far? — Cirt (talk) 02:58, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- I think you've gotten the majority of her comments; I'm not that detailed when it comes to references so there may be something missing. Doesn't look it though. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:21, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Okay thanks for that feedback, that's encouraging. I've addressed the bulk of the next set by Neelix (talk · contribs), about to update back at the FAC page soon. — Cirt (talk) 05:03, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Added a minor update on the image check section, per comments below in the FAC by Neelix (talk · contribs). Also, responded (so far) to all incoming comments. Everything should be addressed now. :) — Cirt (talk) 18:44, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
Update: Nikkimaria (talk · contribs) has stricken his oppose and acknowledged that the article has improved enough for him to do so. Do you think you could reevaluate your position at this point in time? Thank you, — Cirt (talk) 20:07, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

- I'll try and get a prose review done — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:28, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Need your help.
I saw the comments that you made for me to promote List of Academy Awards for Walt Disney to FL status. First of all, thank you for your comments.
- Based on your second comment, I have rephrased the sentence. Is it fine now?
- In your fourth comment you said that "significant screen innovation which has charmed millions and pioneered a great new entertainment field for the motion picture cartoon" would not be NPOV. The thing is I could the quote directly, as it was, from Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (you can see the source). So I can't really do anything about it. Do you have an alternate solution?
- In your sixth comment you told me that this image, would be a nice replacement for the image I have used right now. But for that I need to confirm that there was no copyright symbol on the trailer. Can you tell me how to do that?
Thank you. Surge_Elec (talk) 08:05, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'll reply on the nomination page. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 08:29, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- Edited, as per your replies. Kindly review. Surge_Elec (talk) 09:12, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Si Ronda
On 6 May 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Si Ronda, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Lie Tek Swie's Si Ronda (The Watchman) was the debut of Bachtiar Effendi? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Si Ronda. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Thank you so much
Thank you for even the smallest copyedits at Freedom for the Thought That We Hate. I really appreciate it. A lot. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, — Cirt (talk) 23:01, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Glad to help, although I can't get everything just yet. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:13, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- I responded to your prose comments, at the FAC subpage.
- Your recommendations were all good and I did not object to any of them.
- Therefore, I just simply implemented all of those changes directly to the article itself.
- Hopefully the prose is improving to the point that one or two perhaps out of the 100,000 Wikipedians that are active in existence on this planet might one day think the article is worthy of WP:FA quality status. :) That would be nice. — Cirt (talk) 23:16, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
FP on Manhattan and NYC articles
I noticed that you changed an image out at both of those articles. The image that you replaced does also happen to be a FP (although only on two wikis and wiki commons), and it shows better on the Manhattan and NYC articles, being that it's such a small image in those places. So the borderless version has better visibility and is still a FP, and thus I suggest that you put the cropped image back.
Regards,
--ɱ (talk) 21:58, 30 March 2013 (UTC) 00:20, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Feel free to revert, but the bordered version is the one promoted on the English Misplaced Pages and it is the one which will be on the main page in... oh, about two years. If it is not in those articles, then those articles will not be chosen for the main page bold link. The standard is to replace alternatives with passed FPs, although this can be reverted by those who maintain the articles. As for why the bordered version was passed on the English Misplaced Pages and not the borderless version, please see the nomination. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:19, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
oddness
Java Heat sounds like something I could do without - why is it film makers have to utilise cliches with such naive idiotic minded unbridled uneducated enthusiasm to over-do some things beyond any reason or even logic - bit like some of the dumb movies about bali and krakatoa - why do they do it? - when I spent days walking the streets of Manhattan, and took the ferry around it I was liberated for life - all those dumb night helicopter shots of new york were expunged like some deep religious experience, there were people there, they were friendly and not a single movie cliche jumped out at me in kms and hours of walking.... I suspect the java heat articles' atrocious grammar needs an courageous eye over it... sats 00:31, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'll see if I can get to it later, if a friendly TPS hasn't reached it yet. I was almost supposed to be an extra in that film... — Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:21, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- hmm TPS ? nothing there that fits... nor does burned down unidentified victim and a few other choice phrases... sats 14:40, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Good catch
Good catch | |
Good catch of that situation with the tract housing FPs. It took me awhile to sort out how each of those images are different, tagged, used, etc. Pine 18:53, 7 May 2013 (UTC) |
- It's certainly odd how we managed to pass both. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:55, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

T-T
Hi Crisco, I've re-scanned at a higher spec and had a bit of a clean up of the T-T image. I've got absolutely no idea about the standards of the FPC criteria. I think there are some which this passes fairly easily, but when it talks about "high technical standard" I have no frame of reference for what is considered "high". Is the image too poor quality to think about a future FPC, or is it a viable prospect. Cheers! - SchroCat (talk) 07:59, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think this version, as it stands, is a viable FP. It's not very sharp at full size, which is the first thing they'd look at (did you use one of those artistic filters?) — Crisco 1492 (talk) 12:32, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- No, it's not gone through any filtering process at all, just scanning and touching up the page imperfections. - SchroCat (talk) 16:33, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm... well, you could give it a try. They'd probably love to have an English actor featured... we don't have many. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:51, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
