Joe Francis (born April 1, 1973) is the founder of Mantra Entertainment, which produces the Girls Gone Wild and Guys Gone Wild DVD series. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1995 with a double major in Business Administration and Film & Television Production. He founded Mantra at the age of 24, which produces mostly adult films. He has appeared on Howard Stern's radio show in 2002 and again in 2003, and has also appeared on The Man Show and Dr. Phil.
According to a recent Radar Magazine article, Francis was videotaped in sexually humiliating positions, allegedly while held at gunpoint; he was then subsequently blackmailed. The tape or a copy of it was recovered by the LAPD and will take stage in a criminal trial of his alleged assailant, scheduled for early 2006.
