Stub type
Greetings! A stub template or category which you created has been nominated for renaming or deletion at Misplaced Pages:Stub types for deletion. The stub type most likely doesn't meet Misplaced Pages requirements for a stub type, through failure to meet standards relating to the name, scope, current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Misplaced Pages:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals! This message is boilerplate, left here as a courtesy, and should not be considered personal in nature.

Photographs of Canadian politicians
I am looking for data regarding how many articles about Canadian politicians are missing profile photos. It is my understanding that profile photos are not available because the Queen's Printer in Canada and the respective provincial jurisdictions holds copyright on these photographs that are taken after an election. As a project of Wiki Canada we are hoping to persuade the Canadian government to change this policy. Any help in quantifying the need or assisting with this effort would be appreciated. Appropriateness of "Political Positions"
Perhaps someone here can help me. Not surprisingly, some work is being done on Gary E. Johnson. In the opinion of some, the article has NPOV problems. There seems to be an on-going good-faith effort to correct these. My question relates to the appropriateness of the "political positions" section in the article Gary E. Johnson#Political positions. It seems to me inappropriate to list a few positions of a presidential candidate, and that trying to list them all is impossible, and that the section shouldn't be here. Is there some guidance on this somewhere? TheNgeveld 20:55, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Notice
The Starhawk article was moved/renamed today to Starhawk (author) without discussion by a proponent of the new video game of the same name. Now Starhawk (and all 100 Wikilinks to her name) redirects to a disambiguation page. Please note my Requested Move discussion about moving it back to the original article title. If inspired to vote, please note Wiki policies that support this, such as WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, etc. Softlavender (talk) 12:17, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Request for NPOV review
- Recently an editor has raised concerns regarding NPOV with some articles I had worked on prior to an extended wikibreak.
- I have committed to no longer edit or watch these pages.
- However, I would appreciate it if others could look them over with NPOV in mind, and discuss on their talk pages and make appropriate changes if need be.
Here are the articles:
I will not object to any changes proposed, discussed, or implemented.

Help needed at Talk:Prescott Bush
There's currently a lengthy discussion at Talk:Prescott Bush regarding our coverage of Bush's involvement with UBC, a bank that was seized under the Trading with the Enemy Act. The dispute is mainly about whether secondary sources or primary sources should be emphasized, and whether some of the sources are tainted by the involvement of a conspiracy theorist who may have had ulterior motives. Input would be greatly appreciated. Huon (talk) 18:11, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Help requested by inexperienced biographer
I'm looking for some help from an expert WP:BIO member (or multiple). I've made some great strides on Kirsten Gillibrand, but need some help finishing it up. For one, there doesn't seem to be a set format for how US Senator articles should look (and those that are at FA level now are not helpful since they are Senate leaders, former presidential candidates, and so on, therefore exceptions to the way the articles should be written for the rest of the group). Also, finding sources that sum up a senator's and representative's service during each term would be helpful (i.e. the milestones). Writing about the campaigns is easy; covering the terms isn't so much. Lastly, covering 'political views' sections can be cumbersome because the list could become endless. An outside viewpoint on what could be added or trimmed would be great. Your help would be much appreciated. upstateNYer 01:55, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs - the final surge
Since early in 2010, many editors have assisted in the referencing or removal of over 90% of the Unreferenced Biographies of Living People, bringing the total down from over 50,000 to the current 4,862 (as of 16:28, 1 June 2011 (UTC)). Thank you for all of the work you've done to date, but we are now asking for your help in finishing this task. There are two main projects which are devoted to removing UBLPs from en.Misplaced Pages:
- WP:URBLP has set up a large number of topic based lists, which are updated each day by a WP:BOT. Your project's list is located at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Biography/Politics and government/Unreferenced BLPs and currently contains 353 articles.
- WP:URBLPR is focusing on clearing out the backlog based on the month in which each article was tagged as being unreferenced. The current task is Category:Unreferenced BLPs from September 2009, and it is the last month remaining from 2009.
- You can also reference a random article or make your own lists using one of the catscan tools, such as this search for Canadian politicians.
All you have to do is pick your articles and then add suitable references from reliable sources and remove the {{BLP unsourced}} template. There is no need to log your changes, register or remove the articles from the list. If you need any help, or have any comments, please ask at WP:URBLPR or WT:URBLP.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. The-Pope (talk) 16:28, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Jim DeMint
For a U.S. Senator, Jim DeMint has a very poor article. It reqires a lot of expansion, and the section about his career as a U.S. Rep, for which he served for SIX years prior to becoming Senotr (1999-2005) is empty. For a potential Presidential candidate in 2012, this is very bad. SOXROX (talk) 22:47, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Ferdinand Marcos and TfD:Template:The Marcoses
Is there anyone here with an interest in the Philippines? If so, please come and have a look at TfD:Template:The Marcoses. There is a discussion there which is relevant to this project. In the course of considering a proposal to delete Template:The Marcoses I discovered that links to articles about many opponents of - and some collaborators with - Ferdinand Marcos are not linked to the text in his article, merely to this badly named and concealed navbox, which is now proposed for deletion. These include Insurgency in the Philippines, New People's Army, Moro National Liberation Front, Assassination of Ninoy Aquino, NAMFREL and People Power Revolution. Also, Constitution of the Philippines is a link hidden underneath alternative text, and Rolex 12 only appears without elaboration under "See also". Some of these are in danger of being orphaned. I sincerely hope that someone here will take an interest in rectifying the situation. Thanks. Rubywine . talk 22:26, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Tom Kahn was a democracy activist, first with the Socialist Party of America, then in the civil rights movement (with Bayard Rustin and Rachelle Horowitz), and the AFL–CIO International Affairs Department (where he worked to support Solidarity (Polish trade union).
The article Tom Kahn has been nominated as a WP:Good article. Writing a review is a chance to earn good karma!

Berezovsky article
Editors are removing reliably sourced information from the Boris Berezovsky article, and on the talk page seem to indicate that it is a WP:BLP violation. Can uninvolved editors take a look at Talk:Boris_Berezovsky_(businessman)#Use_of_libel_tourism.2Fterrorism and opine over there. There appears to be gaming going on to keep relevant information out of an article. Appreciate any input on the talk page. Thanks, Russavia 20:21, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

U.S. Election editnotice
I've created {{U.S. Election notice}} as an editnotice template for use on articles affected by the U.S. general election. Since the election is in early November and many of those elected don't take office until mid-to-late January, we tend to have a lot of jump-the-gun updating. This editnotice is intended to prevent some of that editing by reminding editors that there is a difference between editing and inauguration. I'm not mass-implementing it generally, but if you see that an article is drawing a lot of good faith errors, this is available. --Philosopher 20:56, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
