  • The Sinus Arabicus, a historical name for the Red Sea, in literary works from ancient times to the 19th Century;
  • The Arab Gulf (Arabic Khalij el-Arab), a large bay near Alexandria, Egypt, also known as the Arabs Gulf, Arabs' Gulf, or Arab's Gulf;
  • The Persian Gulf, since the 1960s referred to as the Arabian Gulf or The Gulf by some Arab countries; this usage is controversial (see Persian Gulf naming dispute).
