Just a tip

If you place four tildes (like this: ~~~~) at the end of your talk page comments, the Misplaced Pages software will automatically insert your signature and a date/time stamp. Currently there's a bot that's following you around adding a signature along the lines of "Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgth..." It's much neater if you just do it yourself though. ~Adjwilley (talk) 04:13, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Did you get my message here? ~Adjwilley (talk) 01:01, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Yes, thank you. Edgth (talk) 03:07, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

3rr warning

I also haven't reverted three times on the page. Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 03:41, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

You do need to stop this edit warring. You can be blocked even if you don't cross the WP:3RR threshold. ~Adjwilley (talk) 04:42, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Calm down a bit and look at the results

Look at it this way:

before we started:

  • Humankind X 11
  • Humanity X 8
  • Mankind X 1 (in direct quote)

now (after your "agitation")

  • Humankind X 2
  • Human kind X 1 (corrected from "humankind" in direct quote)
  • Humanity X 14
  • Mankind X 1 (in direct quote)

(plus the odd change to "others", "people" etc.)

Not a bad result, especially as the consensus is so strongly against you. Several other people (including me) have had some sympathy for at least some aspects of your argument, and the article has actually been changed (for the better) by reducing the number of uses of the rather awkward "humankind". Big difference between 11 and 2!!!

Considering you've been so combatative and stubborn (sorry, but you have, you know) which is generally NOT the way to go, as it gets people's backs up! you've actually done rather well, and successfully improved a very highly rated article.

Hang in there! --Soundofmusicals (talk) 05:54, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, will do. It´s a popular article so yeah, getting rid of those awful words is great. Edgth (talk) 23:55, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. • Further to the above, and to this SPI case, I just want to remind you that you are permitted to edit from one account only. Using other named accounts, or editing as an IP, in order to evade scrutiny is sock puppetry and is prohibited. Even if this was not your intention, editing the same article with a named account and as an IP may lead others to suspect you, so please don't do this. Once your block has expired you are welcome to edit constructively. Basalisk berate 13:16, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Bahá'í Faith shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Δρ.Κ.  00:21, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
