District (Thai: Amphoe; Khet in Bangkok) is a type of administrative division below the province level in Thailand.

In Thailand, a district is a subdivision of a province. A tambon is a subdivision of a district. The tambon is however of less importance with respect to the administration of land.

Each district has a District Office (ที่ว่าการอำเภอ), headed by a District Officer, which mainly deals with land administration.
