Mohammed "Mo" Ansar is a professional British Muslim. Appearing regularly on television and radio in the United Kingdom, he commentates on a variety of issues. He has tackled the far right and Muslim extremists in media debates and is one of very many Muslims on television in Britain. He is regularly criticised by groups from the far right and the Islamic community for his progressive views on homosexuality and treatment of minority groups. He is also known for his staunch opposition to the principle of freedom of speech. He has developed the nickname "No Answer" for his supposed inability and refusal to directly answer questions.
In April 2012 he first met the then English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson, when they participated in a BBC programme The Big Questions. At Ansar's invitation, the two began a dialogue after the programme in which they sought to develop an understanding of their opposing views. Robinson left the organisation in 2013, after which he joined the Quilliam Foundation, a think-tank that tackles Islamic extremism. Their journey was the subject of a 2013 BBC documentary, Quitting the English Defence League: When Tommy Met Mo, which aired on BBC One on 28 October 2013.
