User:Lexein/Film Sack

Improved it with award ref, and many podcast reviews, mostly by other podcasters and podcast review sites. In your opinion, is it sourced well enough for restoring to mainspace yet? --Lexein (talk) 19:38, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Warning

Look at the articles I have created today, they have references for all I have created except for the Saudi article of which i'm looking for right now. Bahrain, Bangladesh articles created today and referenced. So whats your problem? Druryfire (talk) 19:52, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

Since you blocked me, you might find that every article I've created is referenced. So why you still pursuing me? I can show you articles that I haven't created that don't have references but you do nothing about them, yet you appear to have an agenda to follow me around and taunt me yet the evidence of the pages you highlight have references - they are referenced, you say badly because of what reason? Read from the article you sent me It does not mean perfection is required. Articles can be improved in small steps, rather than being made perfect in one fell swoop. Small improvements are our bread and butter. Jesus, create an article only today and appears you want perfection against the guidelines provided. Druryfire (talk) 20:09, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Have I referenced all articles I created today? Yes. Do you know how hard it is sometimes to find a suitable references? I'm guessing no. End of the day, I've referenced the articles I've created. What more do you want from me? You notice I edited the Saudi article, then you sent me a message whilst I was still editing (adding references). You've jumped the gun mate. Less than 12 hours of an article creation and your jumping down my throat yet let other unreferenced articles that have been around for months just slip on through. Druryfire (talk) 20:18, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
And like I told you it's referenced, so what you harping on about? Go talk to someone else who hasn't referenced an article. Don't talk to me about referencing articles when I have. Druryfire (talk) 20:24, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
I've referenced the page. So how is that ignoring your advice? Druryfire (talk) 20:27, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Excuse me. I've referenced the articles. I'm stating a fact here. Your continuing to leave messages on my Talk Page in the hope of forcing me away. I think your manner in all this is totally wrong. Just man up and move on. Druryfire (talk) 20:51, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

Giuseppe Rossi

Let's not fight over this. I think the problem is that we both have a different impression of what should be listed under "Youth career" and "Senior career". IMO, "Youth career" should cover the period until the end of a player's involvement with a club's youth teams, but "Senior career" may start as soon as the player is either officially promoted to the first team or makes his first team debut (promotion to the first team may occur long before debut, as I'm sure you realise). These two periods can, of course, overlap, as they did in Rossi's case. What's your opinion? – PeeJay 20:42, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

That sounds like an odd decision to make, especially in cases where a player may make a tokenistic debut at the age of 16 (in the League Cup or in a dead rubber game at the end of a season, perhaps) and yet his youth career (i.e. playing for the club's under-18s or under-21s) continues for another two or three years. Should this perhaps be re-examined? – PeeJay 20:47, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

HiLo48

I wonder if you might give me some advice regarding the conduct of User:HiLo48. They keep signing off their comments on talk pages with "LOL", obviously to exhibit a level of disdain for the users they are engaged with. I believe this borders on incivility, and when I explained to HiLo48 as such, I simply received the aforementioned response. Do you think they're being uncivil to "laugh" at other people's contributions, and if so, what can an admin such as yourself do about it? – PeeJay 00:57, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Is it selective, or only during disputes? Just one editor, or all? Personally, I haven't had any particularly uncivil interactions with HiLo48. I have had to deal with an editor who used cryptic edit summary acronyms as hidden insults. It took six months and five editors plus an administrator insisting all at once to convince him to either explain the acronym or stop using it. What I'm saying is, you might have to wait for other editors to complain spontaneously, then gather together. WP:CANVASing won't help, or work, and will backfire. Monitoring the user's contributions is pretty much the way to go, in my opinion. I support gentle, persistent reminders that kidding around resembles mockery when rendered in plain text, and mocking other users fails WP:CIVIL and WP:Etiquette. It's not just about keeping a "civil tongue", it's about courtesy. --Lexein (talk) 02:16, 4 December 2013 (UTC) Please reply here, everyone, in thread, for continuity...
Hi Lexein, thanks for your input. I can't speak for all of the edits the user in question has made since I've only come across them in times of dispute. However, it does seem to me that they "laugh" mockingly at anyone who doesn't agree with their position. See Talk:Australia national association football team and Talk:Soccer in Australia for examples. And it's not just me they've rubbed up the wrong way, User:2nyte is in the same boat as me. Anyway, if this counts as CANVASsing, I won't pursue it further. No point making a rod for my own back. I just thought that particular user could do with some wiki-quette lessons, since they already laughed off my suggestion to read WP:DBAD. – PeeJay 09:15, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
