This "dean" story seems like an attempt to trick readers into believing Mr Bowker was a leading figure at Trinity. He was obviously not. 3) As other people have pointed out, there's thousands of people who may claim to have been "consultants for UNESCO"

John Bowker teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and the North Carolina State University. He is an Honorary Canon of Canterbury Cathedral, a consultant for UNESCO, as well as a BBC broadcaster.

Bowker was the Dean of Trinity College, Cambridge (1984-91); he formerly taught at Lancaster University. From 1992 to 1997 he was Professor of Divinity at Gresham College, London.
