Re your edit summary at Marcel Rapp
No, I didn't do any WP:BEFORE, beyond checking the page history. See Wikipedia_talk:Proposed_deletion_of_biographies_of_living_people#WP:BEFORE_or_what.3F. PamD 20:58, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Étienne Capoue
1) Do you think that "2+2=4" or "a human hand have five fingers" need a source? Obviously they needn't and usually so is for the pronunciations of names: pronunciation rules say how to spell a name (I had already explained this). 2) 99% of the pronunciations you can find here is not sourced and nobody (even you) has thought to do anything about. 3) Even if you are right (but you AREN'T), what do you think it's to be done? To remove all the unsourced pronunciations? Man, it's a huge work... Good luck! By the way, I wonder why you torment Capoue's page in particular. 4) "If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages": hahaha! Sure! They'll put me in a jail! Well, I think I'll run the risk! --Ebdòmero (talk) 18:25, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- Ebdòmero, The best place to deal with this issue is on the discussion page for the article. This enables all editors to participate. Edit Summaries however wholesome are not appropriate where there is any challenge. I do not know what the precise concern Giant Snownam has regarding the pronunciation but where an unsourced / improperly sourced addition/ change to a biographical article is made editors have the right to challange it under WP:BLP. GS could also have initiated the discussion! The editors should then discuss on the article's talk page. And just in case you are unclear if anyone persistently continues to revert the status quo of the article prior to the disputed change was first made where the change is challenged, the sanction of a block will frequently be used to stop an edit war continuing. So to use your words back to you I suggest that you don't try and 'run the risk'. I would suggest you assume good faith and post a much toned down version in the sprit of AGF of what you have penned above on the article's Talk Page so a discussion can proceed. Riyad Mahrez
Hi GS, we've already discussed the issue of French league reserve stats in the infobox in WT:FOOTY and reached consensus on not including them since it's not a notable level (unlike Germany for example where reserve teams can play at professional level). TonyStarks (talk) 20:05, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- Did you miss the part where I said we previously reached a consensus on WT:FOOTY about not including them? It's like you didn't even bother reading my message .. TonyStarks (talk) 18:51, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Jon Burklo
I noticed you voted for deletion for Jon Burklo. However if you look at the least of teams he played at, it includes the Wilmington Hammerheads who play in USL Pro (formerly called USLSecond Divison) who have always been listed as fully professional at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Football/Fully_professional_leagues. What am I missing? Nfitz (talk) 03:28, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Niche (footballer) / Family stuff
Hi there GS, AL "here",
given the fact we don't know if he played any actual games for C.D. Motagua (only top division club in his box), shouldn't this article be deleted or at least be put up for deletion?
About the Niguez brothers, i really have a hard time understanding where is the line drawn regarding acceptability parameters. Please mate, note that this is not a criticism on your approach, merely me wanting to learn. I mean, why not consider the infobox also OR and delete it? For me, the stats table is really not all that necessary given we have an infobox, so i have no "beef" with it being removed, but the honours i really don't get.
Regards and happy week --AL (talk) 16:07, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hence, does that include the box? --AL (talk) 19:32, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
I have worked extensively on the Ñíguez family, finding refs for them all. In a related matter, please my friend, report to this "letter" i wrote at WP:FOOTY (here https://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Aar.C3.B3n_.C3.91.C3.ADguez), you have my promise i will re-remove the info of which i speak therein so you don't have to worry about a thing (i.e. having to go through the trouble of removing it yourself).
Cheers --AL (talk) 01:26, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- As promised, and per JMORRISON's explanations at WP:FOOTY, removed club honours. --AL (talk) 15:50, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Domingo Drummond
Hello my friend. I read that article yesterday and has several flaws (in my opinion). Don´t says the cause of death of Domiingo Drummond (that says the link 3), and the final reference (4) is broken. You can verify.
And finally, the phrase "one of three players from the Honduran World Cup squad to have died as of January 2013" ... whom do you mean? Thanks!! --Apega71 (talk) 01:46, 14 January 2014 (UTC) one of three players from the Honduran World Cup squad to have died as of January 2013
2005–06 Copa Catalunya
Sorry, I've been away for a couple of days and only saw your message now. I think it's a bit late to re-open, but I'm happy to procedurally relist so everyone can have another go if you like. Lankiveil 09:47, 14 January 2014 (UTC).
- Done, enjoy! Lankiveil 11:45, 14 January 2014 (UTC).
Ian Redford
It was really, really vile of you to decimate the playing achievements of Ian Redford when they'd barely cut him down from where he'd hung himself. He's not even in the ground yet. I hope you're proud of yourself, you disgusting person - just plain unpleasant, nauseating. --82.41.251.96 (talk) 14:19, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Over Linking
I am familiar with this policy, are you? Mentioning the country where a footballer's family originates from and using wikilinks isn't over linking. We mention this on many football player articles, the footballer's heritage due to international eligibility. Example "X is an English footballer of Y decent". How many under 16 year olds will be familiar with Mali? How many over 16 year olds will be familiar with Mali? What is wrong with having wikilinks on Mali? Do you think we should remove the wikilinks leading to St Lucia and Dominica on the article 'Jermain Defoe' because we are over linking? Or should be get rid of the wikilinks leading to Association Football on the article 'Nouha Dicko' because a footballer is common occupation and therefore shouldn't be wikilinked because we are in violation of over link. Over linking would be putting wikilinks on ever other word or putting wikilinks on the same words over and over again on one article. IJA (talk) 18:15, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Like I said, how many people are familiar with Mali? How many people have even heard of it? And why do we mention countries which footballers are eligible for and use wikilinks? Why do we mention Sierra Leone with wikilinks on the article Ryan Giggs? IJA (talk) 18:33, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Well I'm talking about using wikilinks on countries which footballers are eligible for, mentioning this is "particularly relevant to the topic of the article". IJA (talk) 18:40, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- The official football federation of Mali website seems to think so IJA (talk) 18:49, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Done. I think one sentence is sufficient until/ if he actually receives a call up. IJA (talk) 19:06, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Mora about Domingo Drummond
Hello GiantSnowman!
Well, not quite understand what you're asking, but I'll be very specific with this article:
- No cause of death about Domingo Drummond.
- Link 4 is broken.
- Doesn`t specify who the other two players who played in the World Cup 1982 are dead. Remember the phrase: "one of three players from the Honduran World Cup squad to have died as of January 2013".
