Page deletion

Revolution within the form is up for deletion. I ask for a vote to transwiki. Thanks. WHEELER 00:29, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for voting

I'd just like to take a moment to thank you, Mike Halterman for voting in my request for adminship regardless if you voted for or against me. Seeing some very valid concerns, I've pulled the RfA until some of the concerns can be addressed. Thanks for your comments, I'll use them to help better myself -- Tawker 02:17, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey there

Had no idea you were so active on here ^_^ I've been slaving away on the Jeff Miller article... I know it's not much, but hey, you've got to start somewhere. Disavian 12:12, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

re:Billboard new Hot 100 chart

Hi Mike! I get my Billboard info from their online services. billboard.com usually posts the new number one album on Wednesday afternoon - sometimes they'll also mention the new number one single. As far as other charts go, I am a paid subscriber to the magazine which gives me access to all the charts online, usually on Thursdays, at billboard.biz. I sometimes see wikipedia chart articles updated pretty early - I don't know what other editors' sources are, but my rule of thumb is to not update that stuff til Billboard officially publishes it. -- eo 11:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Jim Croce

Hey. Last August you added in the following to the Jim Croce article:

Recently, his widow, Ingrid, was allowed to obtain the permissions for all of his songs. Since then, she has allowed a PBS special to be made from archive footage as well as footage from the Croce family collection, in order to, in her words, "keep his legacy alive".

I he only references I can find to a daughter are all from wikipedia... Do you remember where you got the information to begin with? It'd be helpful. Anyway, thanks in advance. --Falcorian 07:29, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind... I see someone added in the part I was interested in later... Sorry to bother you! --Falcorian 07:32, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

"Heidieh"

I do beleive you are right... I looked at the edits by the users who added it, and they threw it up a few places (some of which were removed promptly too). I think I got them all now though. --Falcorian 16:21, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Hi Mike. I Remind you of you, eh? It will come as a surprise to you then that I like Days, and never much cared for Another World ! Anyway, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to consider my RfA, which passed this morning. If there's ever anything I can help you with, just ask; you know where to find me. --Meegs 07:39, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

AID

Thank you for your support of the Article Improvement Drive.
This week Great Leap Forward and Decline of the Roman Empire were selected to be improved to featured article status.
Hope you can help…

Sonofagun...

I swore I'd never come back to this crazy site, but I'm glad I snuck a peek at my old user page. I'm glad there's at least one person who misses me.

I'm hanging around some other interest-specific wiki sites, especially a radio control wiki at Wikicities which I've been busily adding to. Phroziac is the founder and she made me an admin off the bat and later a bureaucrat, although I haven't used the bureaucrat function. Yet.  :) If you swing by this wiki, you can drop me an e-mail since I deleted the e-mail contact info over here. I'll fill you in on all the sordid details.

Talk to ya. Signed, the former Lucky 6.9 via 71.102.76.166 06:45, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

AW screenshot

I noticed your screenshot of Lindsay Lohan as Alli on Another World, and I wondered how many AW tapes you actually had. I am a BIG fan of the series and I'd like to know if you had any extra tapes you could spare...I'd really appreciate it. Also, you might be interested in the AW userbox.

Have a nice day! Mike H. That's hot 22:40, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! I wish I could help; I found the cap on lindsayfans.com, which got it through lindsaylohan.net, and it doesn't look like the person who posted it there is still active on the message boards. Someone there (ll.net) might be able to point you in the right direction, though. Good luck! RadioKirk talk to me 23:08, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Current time

Hi, Mike. Hope you're enjoying the Category:date math templates.

Latest versions:

You can use {{utc}} with any integer from 0 to 23. For UTC+2 use "2" and for UTC-5 use "24 - 5 = 19". Cheers! --Uncle Ed 19:44, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Dark Shadows

Shkarter1985 sounds very angry about something, I have no idea what. But, in any case, the Dark Shadows page is back to the version we agreed upon, so my inclination is to let it be.

By the way, the bold on the second mention of Dark Shadows in the intro was intentional, and I think follows wiki policy on article titles, though it is no big deal one way or the other. Rick Norwood 02:10, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Now that I go to look for the reference, I can't find it. Never mind. Rick Norwood 15:25, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Katelyn Faber

Could you weigh in at the bottom of the Talk Page for Katelyn Faber regarding the inclusion of an image of her? User:Tufflaw, who unsuccessfully tried to have the entire article deleted back in December 2005 insists on censoring/deleting it for extremely specious reasons, and I've been asked to gather a consensus. Thanks. Nightscream 18:40, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Thank you!

Thank you for supporting / opposing / vandalising my RFA! The result was 71/3/0 and so I am now still a normal user / an administrator / indefinitely banned. Your constructive criticism / support / foulmouthed abuse has given me something to think about / helped me immensely / turned me into a nervous wreck. If there's any way I can help you in return, please ask someone else / suffer and die / drop me a line! --Sam Blanning (formerly Malthusian) (talk) 19:47, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Dear Mr Blanning, thank you for choosing the ACME Auto-thanker! Simply strike out the phrases that do not apply and tear off this strip at the indicated line to give all your supporters and detractors the personalised response they so richly deserve.

Invitation to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Japan

As you are a member of the Japan-related topics notice board, I thought you might be interesting in helping out with our new WikiProject. We'd love to be able to tap into any particular expertise you may have in order to improve Japan-related articles here on Misplaced Pages. We look forward to working with you. POV?

Mike, how can there be a point of view in a school's history such as that one that I wrote? I said nothing controversial, didn't accuse anyone of anything, didn't say anything outrageous, didn't really tell the school's history through anyone's eyes in particular; so why is my version POV? I think you're wrong. As it stands now, the history section reads like a rather dull, uninteresting government report about turnip production or city sanitation. My version at least used interesting language. Face it, it's been dumbed down. Kelisi 04:19, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

That's hot

My RfA recently closed and it was a success, passing at 84-02-00. I would like to thank you for taking the time to weigh in and on your subsequent support. And I know it's quite cliche, but if you ever need any assistance and/or want another opinion on something, grab a Pepsi and don't hesitate to drop me a line on my talk page. Thanks again. Pepsidrinka 05:09, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

I still don't see your point.

I'll say two things. One is a question:

What other conclusion are readers likely to be led to if I include words like "only" or "utterly" in this article (I didn't use the latter anyway)?

The other is a vocabulary lesson:

The word "temperamental" when applied to a device, means "having a tendency to do unexpected things", which is how I meant it. Please check this out if you don't believe me (Definition 3).

Nancy Hughes Peer Review

Whoever added this peer review added it onto Misplaced Pages:Peer_review/Vermaport. I reverted it back to its last version and I didn't realize that it wasn't kept on the main peer review page. Sorry! (J.reed 08:29, 31 March 2006 (UTC))

Hi Mike

Thanks for voting on my RFA. One thing - I don't loathe IRC. I've used it myself a few times when I've needed advice. What I loathe is a policy or decision being made there, as it's unlogged, and I believe Misplaced Pages should always be fully open in everything that goes on - and especially decision-making processes. Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Cbs.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 15:05, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Image:Beatricearthur.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Beatricearthur.jpg, has been listed at Misplaced Pages:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Years on VSE article

I didn't input any years so I think you have me confused with someone else. All I put were examples of very special episodes. Someone else is putting the years. In my history I'm saying the examples I entered were real because frankly, some of them were out there LOL. But that's how sitcoms used to be back then. But let me say this, I applaud that person for making such an effort. Even if some of the years may be off, I imagine he's put in a lot of work to research every episode and you should cut them some slack. MrBlondNYC 08:32, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Hey TCOL !

Didn't think it would take you long to realize that I was both finally at USF and active on wikipedia again. Of course since i ~should~ be studying for finals, I'm a rather motivated editor at the moment. Oh, and I'm EE major, what's yours? -- Dbroadwell 16:43, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

With a little help from my friends

Alright? Don't know if yer still knocking about but I was wondering if you could do me a big bad favour. Would you be able to give the Noel Gallagher page an edit from a neutral point of view? I can't get it GA of FA status as it is apparently too POV. There's loads of information there and I think it has the potential to be FA but it needs one last overhaul and your sort of professional like that. Cut down on the POV stuff and polish the article. Reckon you could help? Go on! Cheers--Crestville 22:24, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Don't make me pester you for an reply Mike. I can be pretty persistant.--Crestville 17:00, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

San Francisco Garter Snake

thanks for your interest in this article. the capitalisation is found both ways in the literature. ill consider changing it after i do a little more research and hear any other wiki comments. cheers. Covalent 22:21, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Maynard Jackson

Hi, saw your new infobox there. It makes the succession rather confusing because Jackson served two terms but not in a row. Will you make it more clear? And where you've put a party, the mayor of Atlanta doesn't run with a party affiliation so that's not really accurate. Thanks! Jolomo 14:56, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, he was but I'm still not sure the best way to handle this. There was a discussion around the Mayor of Atlanta page where we ended up puting a "no official party affiliation" disclaimer at the top then listed the party by each office-holder -- especially in the 1870s it was interesting to see who was aligned with who. I'm probably out of the loop, is this the standard infobox for mayors or something? It would be a pretty huge undertaking to update all the other articles! Cheers Jolomo 16:58, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Very nice new sig. :-) Quality. --You Know Who 05:22, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, User:Lar put it in an edit summary and I liked it, so I asked him if I could use it. He said he'd taken it from a "Mike person" who he saw going around; unfortunately he didn't know the full name of Mike Person. So, not wishing to spend days hunting, I just took it. However, I've now taken an even better signature (ha). Master of Puppets
