PumpkinSky

Not interested in the irrelevent back-and-forth on the RFA, but when you wrote "clean start return as PumpkinSky without hiding his previous account," were you aware of , where he hides his previous account? Hipocrite (talk) 17:40, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

That's interesting, but I don't read it as hiding his previous account. He seems to me to be simply indignant that on his fifth edit after returning with a clean start account, his small addition and cleanup to Donald W. Loveland was reverted by a bot and then by Nasnema - who had the temerity to call it "unsourced" while a quick glance at the only source given in the stub verified Pumpkin Sky's addition. No wonder we can't attract editors when somebody who seems to be a new editor gets treated like that. I simply don't read his annoyance as trying to hide the Rlevse connection, but of course your mileage may vary. --RexxS (talk) 18:36, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Oh, ok. I guess you won't mind , , , The entirety of the "BarkingMoon is a friend," uniqueness. I wonder also why you're saying that he wasn't hiding his previous account when he wrote "I apologize to the community for presenting myself as a new user." But, hey, you like the guy, so he can do no wrong, not even the wrong he admitted! Hipocrite (talk) 19:10, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Nah, you're reading too much into how he reacted when folks treated his seemingly-new user so poorly. There was an experiment a while ago when a few established users created fresh accounts to experience first hand how we treat new users and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I guess that Pumpkin Sky started off hoping he could avoid being linked to Rlevse, but he soon admitted the previous account when it became obvious you can't really "clean start". You're right though, I do like the guy: did you know he went back to the Grace Sherwood article - which was the trigger for the problems that led him leaving as Rlevse - and worked hard on it to fix all the issues and get the revised version back to Featured Article? I like content contributors. --RexxS (talk) 19:38, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
I wrote out a long reply about NEWT and Randy in Boise and whatever, but fine, let's just leave it here. We'll agree to disagree. Hipocrite (talk) 19:56, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
Of course - it would be a shame to fall out over such a small matter. Happy editing! --RexxS (talk) 20:22, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

In the pink

Yes, indeed, the north facade of Palazzo Pitti is extremely pink, especially in the setting sun , but not as pink as the former home of one of my dearest, most misunderstood and late friends Eva Peron. Oh how I used to enjoy my sojourns at the Casa Rosada advising poor Eva on etiquette and appearance. She once said to me "Lady Catherine, you would have made so much a better First Lady of Argentine than I." Poor darling Eva, I often feel her insightful perception and brain was never fully understood. The Lady Catherine de Burgh (talk) 18:35, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Commons

You understand that stupid place. some daft little admin there has just blocked me for trying to point out that I uploaded a photograph erroneously years ago to which I did not have the copyright. I thought it was one I took, but have now discovered that I didn't - an easy mistake ina house full of such photographsall of the same subject. The details are here IIcan't be bothered to argue with Commons; it's not as though I ever uploaded it to them anyway. Thanks ex.  Giano  22:32, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

While you are there you might like to point out that that they have filthy manners. It's rather hard to respond to some little cretin when the juvenile has blocked one from doing so . I shal be advising everyne here to put a keep local tag on their images.  Giano  22:36, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
I'll do my best, Excellency. Can I ask if you need to sort out File:Mentmore Towers, Bucks, England.jpg as well? --RexxS (talk) 23:50, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
No don't worry about it Rex, stay away from the foul, disgusting place. I've attempted t put it right and one can see the gratitude one gets. To be frank, yesterday, half the time I thought was editing Misplaced Pages (a far better mannered place) I had followed the link from the image which clearly said Misplaced Pages and that's now why I appear half the time to be editing as an anon . Even though the reptilious little morons can see it's me they have now slapped a template on announcing that I am editing from a place called Chinnor! Nice as that is no doubt, I have never been there - I'm actually in London. Anyway, they've been told about the problem, one can do no more. In my view, the place wants closing down. I never had much time for it - now I have none with it. Even though it says Misplaced Pages quite clearly , I am blocked from editing my own image - this is one big con! So until Commons stop arrogantly taking all these images: I strongly advise everyone to stop uploading pictures to Misplaced Pages because this the trouble they will eventually find themselves in. 08:24, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Furthermore, forgive me for beng blind, but I fail to see the little idiot's warnings: do you? Nope - the place wants closing down. No doubt asking them io oversight my IP would be akin to flying to Mars.  Giano  08:33, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Chiropractic

Hi, RexxS. It may have been better to post only a brief message on the WikiProject talk page with a link to the Chiropractic talk page, inviting people to comment at the article's talk page. This would have made it easier for other readers to see the previous discussion, keep all the discussion in a single place, and prevent accusations of "forumshopping". Axl ¤ 15:48, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I'm sure you're right, but there's no forum shopping when I'm just following the instructions on MEDRS on asking for other opinions. You'll be pleased to know Guy and I have exchanged helpful emails - and we both just had a bad day, it seems. We're both "singing off the same hymn-sheet" now and all that's left is try to get QG to edit at a pace that we can all keep up with. Thank you, as ever, for the advice and your concern. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 17:07, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

I mentioned you at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard#Chiropractic. Editors want me banned. QuackGuru (talk) 18:21, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up, QG. I've commented there that I think there's room for compromise - and that's preferable to any amount of banning. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 21:29, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
This is clearly the end of this scholarly encyclopedic chiropractic article on Misplaced Pages. If this were an article like toothache there would never of been any content dispute. Based on the edit history, I'm sure editors will continue to delete reliable sources and continue to add original research. QuackGuru (talk) 21:53, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

FLC

Hey RexxS, while I'm not involved in the governance of FLC any more, thanks again for your time and generous advice. Hope you're well. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:28, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

I am very well, thank you, TRM. I just spent a couple of interesting days in your neck of the woods (if I recall correctly). You're always welcome to whatever help I can give.
I saw that you'd stepped away from refereeing the bun-fights at FLC, and I don't blame you. It's nice to be able to just pop in when you choose, I suspect. Seems more like a hobby than a chore that way. Take care, --RexxS (talk) 17:54, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Hey RexxS, all good. I'm so pleased to see your name pop up on my watch list from time to time. I ditched FLC as a result of the Rambling Man Jr.'s arrival, similarly the 'crat role. I can just about use the block button, but apparently that may disappear soon too as I can no longer tolerate some of the chat board malpractice at AN/I etc. Never mind all that, I'm glad you're around and I'm very glad you're happy for me to ask you from time to time for advice on something that (I think) we both feel strongly about with technical articles like FLs. My best to you. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:05, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Hey, I must have missed the announcement! Of course it could be just senility on my part, but if I've forgotten, never mind - CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm so pleased for you and The Rambling Missus. Get some cute pictures uploaded; we need them :) --RexxS (talk) 19:12, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
I've got plenty! Email me, I've somewhat lost touch with my Misplaced Pages email address following an "upgrade" of my Mac! The Rambling Man (talk) 19:15, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
